I've gotten a few things off this guy but none of it was that expensive. Got the speed flaps for ^$65 (USD) shipped, TRD Brakelines (since you can't get them anywhere really) for $100 (USD) shipped for all four (good condition surprisingly), and I picked up some G-Limited Seat Covers from him in near perfect condition for $190 shipped (My buddy Colin has them now and loves them). Other than those few items he totally rips people off.

I've corresponded with him a lot over ebay about some of his items and he is completely ridiculous. I think he assumes if he stands firm people will give in. Like when he was trying to sell the Front TRD strut brace (used) for $190 + $80 shipping. I informed him you could buy them new for less and he insisted that he paid more for it and wouldn't let it go for anything less than $240 shipped . Some people are just bad business men...and some are just complete Douche Bags (Super Rare )...

Edit***
I forgot...I got a JDM Climate Control for $45.99 shipped too cause he put it up for auction starting price of $0.99 + $45 shipping . What a steal

See guys its opportunic selling. One can sell at what ever price they want. Claim its rare.
Some of his parts sre, one or two but all the others are not. He is totally aware that you American friends cannot buy JDM or anything > 95 over there and takes advantage of it.
Plus it looks like he lacks a bit of knowledge.......
Question is, did that crank come from a Beams ????????? HUM

Actually I consider him somewhat of a genius businessman, perhaps not genius to his own knowledge though. He saw there was a market for JDM in the states and thought of filling it with parts that to USDM may seem super exotic....this is true because there is hardly a place in this end of the planet that can supply you with some obscure part the western hemisphere has heard about......though they are as common as cockroaches over there.
The fact that he puts an astronomical price on a (considered to us)-rare part and sells it, or an otherwise discontinued OEM piece, and sells it for wickedly high prices again would sort of indicate that he knows what he's doing. He's sold 8000+ items this way, I say that's pretty successful!

Yeah, it's a good marketing concept for sure.

My problem comes in when he spreads misinformation about the use of AT ecu's and the "street" price of these parts in Japan. He tried to say at one point that a used beams ecu was $2000+. Servin got one for under $200.....all so he can keep selling $5500 beams rear clips.

a snake in the grass!

I actually sent him docs (import/export) and they went to Hong Kong, not Japanland...don't know what the deal is.

Now I don't know if he did me a favor or not but when he sent the docs along with my clip, you know the official ones declaring value etc, he put 600 on there, instead of what I paid in reality for the clip with LSD & OEM BEAMS gauges. This was after I had told him that the local customs clowns charge something ominously evil of about 60% import tax (on value of item added to that the shipping costs and added to that any taxes accrued along the way in foreign countries) on something they consider a "luxury" item. Although I had never discussed with him anything remotely similar to "please doctor the papers so I don't pay thru the nose for these import taxes", he did do me a HUGE favor by placing an erroneous value on the invoice docs....

I guess if you are one of these Original OEM nazi's like some American Joe's are about their "classic" cars, chassis VIN has to match engine etc, for the auctions like barret jackson, then this guy is your man.....he could possibly provide you with the original ECU/trim/plastics/blah/meh that matched a particular VIN, at a huge premium of course ha!

Here's something intresting:

Yahoo!¥ª¡¼¥¯¥·¥ç¥ó - SW20/MR2/3SGE/Beams VVT-i¡¡¡¡¥¨¥ó¥¸¥ó+5®¥ß¥Ã¥·¥ç¥ó

Instead of "rare" keith, it should be 1000% markup keith. I'm guessing when he determines a price, whatever he paid for a given item, he adds a 0 to it.

For the record, don't be afraid to make an offer to RPM Garage, you'd be surprised how reasonably they sell some parts for. The shipping can be pricey, but it's very fast and packaged well. Consider the cost when you're making your offer.

That's what I always have done. I low ball the crap out of him and sometimes he accepts or he counters with a price that's $5 less than his asking price

lol i thought i was the only one who was watching that rubber mat to see if if would budge for that price... its been on there like forever.
I've bought one or two things from him but ive never paid his asking price, usually i make an offer of about 3/4's of the asking price and he has always accepted.
Mind you i havent bought anything over $500 AU from him as of yet.

When / if my wife and I decide to live in Japan for a few years, I'll definitely export JDM parts but not at Super Rare Keith's prices! Every time I run across one of his auctions, I can't help but laugh.
