I know the tubby guys say they get better boost here during winter though which makes an awful lot of sense. You're balancing the molecules of fuel vs the molecules of oxygen in the cylinder at the end of the day to get the perfect burn.

One thing -I was asking my mapper last time how he knew what fuel the injectors should give and how it related to RPM and throttle butterfly position in particular. Wasn't sure with a new ECU where he had to start from. I seem to remember him saying that you set the throttle position and measure it, measure the air going in by whatever method then the fuelling is taken care of by a PID loop in the ECU which stops things going wild when you keep the same throttle position -the feedback being given by the lanbda sensor I guess. Can't remember now as it was a while back. I think he said though going MAP sensor has the advantage in that scenario but I might be wrong.

...afraid so Roman, an Naval Architect by training and been doing Hydraulics for the last 3 years (just finishing a 500kW hydraulic power plant installation now). I sucked at fluid dynamics at uni -too much theory and not enough common sense but I'm OK with it now -but cars and MAP are something I'm very slowly figuring out because the differences are tiny. I think I can probably fart more than 6 psi after a good indian meal if I cared to measure it. I maybe shouldn't comment but I'm kind of keen to learn if you know what I mean so excuse my dumb ass questions.

HAHAHHAAHHA 6PSI FART!!!
i'm afraid your rectum would be out then too.....me & buddies got drunk once trying to finish off an engine build.....somehow it came down to a penis measuring contest after a lot of that Heineken barrel thing mixed with some get-up-n-go.....what it came to was cocking around thinking we could all blow into the boost gauge and get to 1 Bar, turns out even 1psi is a HUGE deal of air to blow!!!!
Yeah MAP seems to be easier, since MAP is only one tiny little measurement it does thru that little hose....where as the MAF hot-wire will cool down or heat up or densities change a bit, which is far more variable.....MAP as far as it is discrete and not variable upon densities or temps....

I know from the Toyota nerds by me that they have a specific injection map for the states.....where as the Toyota nerds back home where my BEAMS is at always tell me their "specific models" that they import come with sea-level tuning....since we do not have too much of any altitude to contend with.

I also can tell you that when it's 24C out (at night....in rain) instead of 34-36C out (mid-day....freaking impossible heat....put the girls in very little clothing, yeay!) the engine seems to be up to power, but not as much as when its cool, cold & dense out........something that's VERY noticeable with MAF....whereas before when I had the NA & Turbo setup there would be 0.0 difference in power feel.

Fluid dynamics & Heat transfer was a serious bitch at the Uni, so far only used it a couple times at this CoMo / NiMo catalyst recycling plant my cousin piloted/built....I think I killed more braincells studying the sh*&^%&*t than I would have liked.
