The main reason for the lower power rating on that motor is the cat integrated into to exhaust manifold (like the 5sfe). Aside from this, the greytop and redtop are the same.

You can use a redtop ecu, or just a caldina AT ecu. This also doesn't matter.

You'll need:

-gen3+ mr2 water outlet housing
-redtop exhaust manifold
-gen3+ bpipe
-ecu
-98 camry v6 maf and aftermarket intake
-my conversion harness

I'm still torn between the BEAMS 3S-GE and the Gen4 3S-GTE. It seems as if the BEAMS 3S-GE would be more than enough power wise. I'm not going to be doing any top speed runs, lol. Just need a fun reliable motor that will make my MR2 daily driveable.

Hmm... choices, choices.
