how many amps is the one on the beams and the one on the 5s.

if the cables seem the same and the way they mount seems the same it should work. (never worked on a beams but just my 2 cents)

Do you have your beams im assuming celica engine version with the alternator in the MR2 position ?
If the answer is yes no prob. If the alternator is in the celica position , guess what you need a celica, or maybe even camry as the mounting is different.

Just make a post to our sponsor Litha.. I'm pretty sure he'd know the answer to your question and could probably even get you a replacement.

ONE HUGELY IMPORTANT QUESTION HERE:

so why the hell again is the alternator down low on the MR2? isn't that pretty much suicidal?

To keep the center of gravity low and to make the engine bay look nicer with easier access to the dipstick.

Just wondering, why dont you rebuild it?
It could just be a really cheap problem.
