![]() just painted...black.the gearbox will be red ![]() going to use st205 rods...got a bit of a shock when I first saw then...thought they were the same as came out but on a closer look there's more meat on them |

"anysnooch" hey why a pity that the bores had to be bored? I would always go for that, nice new shiny surface etc.....or do you have a dislike to have that done because of the break-in period? i <3 pics I wonder what the idea behind painting the cylinder block is in general & what the benefits-disadvantages are.... |

this engine is in fantastic condition..the bores were perfect with no wear at all
everything is like brand new in there...so pity to re-bore...but now I have..no matter...going to get all the bits together for the re-build so any of you nice chaps with the manuals...I could do with the torque settings...guess they will be the same as a normal 3sge |

Question, over there when you put another engine in do you have to go to the RTA so it can be checked for registration ? And new engine number.

Well done. Food for thought. My builder will pressurise oil through the block before puting it in the car. This way to guarentee that the is oil on all surfaces befor cranking it. Also advisable to first crank it with the plug leeds off
OH BTW dont get any oil on the surface of the clutch. Cover it |

thanks...yes some good points there...going to use a cheap oil to run up to temp then drain...then use a first run oil to let the rings bed in..don't want the bores to glaze..then use the good stuff
