Should have told me you were into sound. Built a few systems in my time. In actual fact i had a car like yours. Had 2 15 cerwin vegas but my box technology was / is still cutting edge. The volume was only half a cubic foot total for both subs. 153 db but was set up for SQ. Finished my system then got a BMW and put it all in that. And the rest is history Ild use either epoxy or vinyl ester for the laminating, stable right up to 180 degress celcius. Normal GP resin will warp so be careful. |

Figured this is a performance forum so have kept my show stuff out of this thread but thanks anyway Mandalay!
WHOA!! Much better response with new mid exhaust piece right up to 5800rpm and then it starts to splutter and jerk a little. All I have done is removed the 3" muffler piece that was sitting in the middle and replaced it with a 3" piece of pipe for more flow. SO considering Glenn is running 3" inch right the way through to a 3" straight through muffler I think its time I went that route and just be done with it! I still have a 2 1/2" split right at the back with 2 1/2" fibreglass packed mufflers. ![]() Throttle idle is only a fraction out now, the tinest amount... what a pain! haha Ill get there thou! ![]() |

![]() I like the rear end much better with those two angle-cut tips rather than that triple thing you had going on before..... I still say 2.5" Vibrant Performance -everything- FTW |

Picked up the car and its new cheap but temporary single 3" exhaust which is quieter then before and definately has no jerking or spluttering either. I'm off to the tuner on Thursday so hopefully he can sort out the roughness of the car by playing around with the fuel values. If the tune works out well I shall have to think of a snazzy 3" custom exhuast for the back end as the current setup just uses a cheap muffler which doesn't sound very good at all.
Today I mounted the battery in place and wired it all up. Still have a issue with the wiring on the gauges... the 12volt ignition wire for the gauges is hooked upto the 12volt ignition from the original cluster HOWEVER it runs fine when key is at ignition but as soon as you start the car you lose the power hmmmm so need to figure out something different here. ![]() |

Odyssey Battery > All
Got mine mounted under the passenger seat. WFX, shame on you! Place those engine bay trays back where they belong! One splash through some puddle & bye-buy engine! BTW: whatever happened to your headlights? |

I havn't mounted the new headlights yet and have no engine bay trays!
Most of the panels are back in the car now which makes it look more like the interior of a nice car. Definately got a good feel with the way the dash flows with the gauges. Engine heats up to about 82 degrees and idles quite nicely once warm, when cold its a bitch to start thou! Took it for a quick spin and feel reaaaalll nice like although if your in a higher gear when you should be in a lower it takes a little while to get going seems to like it better when you change to the lower gearing to get going. Anyway I'm off to the Tuner tomorrow so he can adjust the fuel mixtures and hopefully I will have a decent power graph to show when I get back! Can't wait!! Wish me luck!!! |

Well well well the tuner had a good look over the car and was overly impressed with he motor itself. He had to change the throttle position as it was currently reading from 100 to 0 instead of 0 to 100 which he said would have been why it ran so rough. He made some slight adjustments with the ignition and it definately idles alot better then it did before, around 1100 now not perfect but definately better. He was impressed with how well the car drives and idles, just like a regular car really which with ITB's is hard to get and he told me to congratulate Glenn on his tune he said its very very good.
Only had a few runs on the dyno as we discovered a issue that should be fixed before he really completes the tune. Now Glenn this is not my fault I NEVER TOUCHED IT!! haha Honest I didn't but the Throttle Bodies aren't balanced correctly, numbers 1 and 2 are off and he showed me the different exhaust temps coming out of each of the pipes to show something was up. I will have to take them off and he said if he can find his balancer his going to give it to me as its a rather fiddly job apprently but I shall get them off first and see what I can manage. Hi Glenn oh buddy ol pal can I ask favor? ![]() Before they discovered the off balance ITB's they did make a couple of runs and my BEAMS ended up making 178Kw at about 8500rpm!! Looking at the MOTEC he said it doesnt look like there will be much tuning to be done as he reckons its looking like a pretty good tune as is. His happy for me to get the ITBs balanced first and then he will do a final tidy up. Overall drove the car home and it drives very smoothly in the lower gears more then impressed with its natural driving. When the foot goes down OH HELL it just kicks you in the pants and goes and goes and goes... DAMN! Good Feeling!! Next... This Sunday I have a Skidpan Day so see how she feels then and should have some video for everyone after that too, cheers! |

is no 1 and 2 different from 3 and 4 because there is a center balance screw to adjust 2 to 3 in the middle near the center pull linkage

dont take them off but take ram tubes and studs out then you should be able to get the center balance right

It was a bit hard to say how far apart 1 & 2 were from each other as they were doing so little work at idle. If there is an adjustment between to balance 1&2 to 3&4 then I would adjust this first so they are similar, before you adjust each butterfly individually |

Last Sunday I had a light track skidpan day just to see how the car feels and its pretty damn nice to drive!! The extra weight in the back has stopped the car from spinning out by going in too hard on the corners which makes it feel better taking those sharp bends now and the extra weight didn't seem to really affect the speed of the car at all although I was in 2nd gear the whole time round the track. Wheel spin city in 1st gear off the line so just need to take that easy and then shift into second once it has some grip. Overall pretty impressed with the way it drives both low and high rpm, if it wasn't for the high fuel usage I could see myself using this as a daily driver but a weekend warrior it will now become. Its just nice that you can drive it like a normal car and when you need that extra zing you just put your foot down and instant power is available with no lag whats so ever, simply beautiful!

2010 has arrived!!
Which means I've had this car 10 years now... OUCH! I've finished my holiday break and settled back into work so today on my half day off I decided to fire the car up!! Yep still goes! ![]() Spark plugs needed replacing so replaced with some NGK BKR6EP-II. Before I had NGK BKR6E but they never had those so hopefully these will do fine for now. I've dumped the running oil out and replaced with some Penrite Superthin 5W60. Cleaned all the cobwebs out, gave a quick wash and warmed the motor up. Idle was beautifull and everything else seemed to be running correctly so will have to look at the next things I need to do to get the car finished now. |

Next issue to sort out would be something like this:
![]() Aside from a balanced set of throttle bodies anyone else have any more reasons as to why the temperature range is much lower in the 1st two pipes and should I be concerned about it? Thanks Wayne |

wayne swap 3and 4 with no 1 and 2 on injectors 1st to see if it is injectors ,also make sure your heat gun is in the same length from the head when you do temp test again

EDIT: Oh yeah and you might be able to notice that the hotter pipes have burnt away the ceramic coat more then the lesser ones. |
