As some of you may already know Glenn has been working very hard on putting all sorts of goodies in the motor so it’s a big strong & nasty little BEAMS! Ha-ha I thought I would share with you all what has been done so far, the outcomes and then from here on out I can keep you up to date with how its progressing on my side for your own reference and pure awe! ![]() Engine Modifications 3SGE BEAMS Red Top Engine Conversion (ST202) MOTEC M400 Engine Managerment System Phoenix Exhaust Manifold with Ceramic Coat 3" Stainless Steel Exhaust System Custom Engine Work Done -Intake & Exhaust Billet Racing Cams -Installed Set of Forged Rods -Forged Pistons 12.5 to 1 (98 Fuel) with Rings -Crank has been lightened (2.5kg) -Block has been washed & acid cleaned to take out rust deposits & welsh plugs pulled -Block had tunnels checked, bored and honed to suit Forged Pistons -Crank bolted up with the Race Bearings to Check Tolerences -Engine Parts Balanced (Rods, Pistons, Crank, Harmonic Balancer, JUN Flywheel & Pressure Plate) -Head has been Ported, Flowed and 16 Valves Cut -Fine Port Inlet on the Head, fully assembled with Valve Springs, Valve Stem Seals & Head Gasket Kit -Bottom End has been assembled with ACL Race Series Bearings & Thrusts -Head bolted up to block to Shim Clearances on Inlet and Exhaust Cams (10thou inlet & 12thou exhaust) -Setup VVT-i Controller timing for min and max movement for the motor -Exhaust is locked off with a custom made Vernier Gear -Installed Set of 48mm Quad Throttle Bodies -Installed Set of 440cc Injectors -Clean Up Original Sump & left over parts -Chassis Dyno Tuned on 98 Octane Fuel Dyno Tuned in Glenn's RA45 ![]() For Reference: Originally made 143Kw @ 7500RPM with a faulty VVT-I Solonoid Special thanks to Glenn Booth for all his hard work and when I'm in Melbourne next will definitely buy him a beer or 5! Let's see of sexy pics of those pistons and if possible can someone post the blacktop piston's? I want to see how different they are, Im curious to see if I cant use blacktop piston's in my redtop.

Now that my 3SGE BEAMS is back in the west here I thought some photos were in order but first once again big thank you to Glenn Booth for doing such exceptional work. I'm more then happy with the outcome especially the overall look of the motor as its very polished shiny and new lookin! I'm sure it performs as well if not better then the workmanship done!!
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Next stage is installation back in the car which requires some modification before job can be complete. Tristan Hewitt @ WTF Auto is the man for the job (down under here he is our 3S-GTE GOD) and I've already spoken to him about what needs to be done next so we will tackle this over the next month or so. ENJOY!! ![]() |

I put a few things back on the motor the other day and just need to complete a few other small jobs before the motor gets re-installed!
