ECU PCB
Members that have been following my Rotrex installation are aware of my sometimes anal approach
One of my objectives was a stealth install. Well its carried over to the wiring. As such after great pain i located the EXACT plug that is used on the Beams ECU , 5 PLUGS , well in actual fact a lot of Toyotas. However they were very dear and hard to get unless you order a few 100 but had to buy a pack of 4.Well why did i choose the 5 plug well you will see Final CAD drawings are nearly complete for the manufacture of a PCB that will have the plug mounted to it and all 122 pins. 8 are being made as its using a whole board. Each pin will be extended to allow a Stand Alone wiring to be soldered to the board. The centre plug not used is being used by me for all the extra sensors. Some of the unused pins in the other plugs can also be used . This way no messy wires all over the place AND A TIGHT CLEAN PACKAGE So as such i have 3 spares. MR 2 CONTROLS sell these at $150 USD. No cutting of factory loom , just plug in. Given im going to use a MoTec its not hard to guess whats happening behind the scene. |

I think you can get them very cheap... I found a place that sells the ecu plugs along with break out boards. I think the connector was 5 bux and the board was prob 40 or so if I remember properly. is this what your talking about???
The ones pictured are for a 3vz-fe Ecu Plug ![]() BreakOut Board ![]() Megasquirt BreakOut Board with extra circuits ![]() -J |

The beams plug pinout configuration is the same as quite a few other cars of similar era, including subarus, mitsis and a few other non toyota things.
And of course obviously same plug configuration for other cars like Altezza, 1ZZ, etc. So there's surely bound to be something 'off the shelf' to do what you want? I'm keen as to get something like that, was just really planning on hack and slashing an ECU and loom from something like a 1ZZ, haha. But if there was a tidy solution that wasnt too expensive, would be keen! Are you gonna be selling your spare ones? Could be keen depending on price. Also Mandalay, will answer your PM as soon as I've got time to check the wiring, sorry been a bit busy at the mo... ![]() edit: From an old thread on another forum: Quote:

Mandalay, I could have saved you some trouble - I have a small lot (30 or so) of Beams ECU connectors sitting around doing nothing. I also have a PCB drawn up in Eagle, but I never pulled the trigger and ordered boards. Also a case that they fit into. Oh well.
The boards pictured above are mine - they are only inexpensive because I've been trying to get rid of them. |

Oh, just a suggestion - space the output pins at 0.1" and use tyco screw-down terminals. Much, much, much easier than wire-to-board soldering. When I build Haltech harnesses I either silicone or hot-glue the wires in place afterwards for security. The terminals are annoyingly expensive at US$.25 per terminal, but that isn't exactly going to show up in your build budget.

Thanks for the suggestion
Very nice boards. What im doing is a simple patch board. There is a reason for it. If you do have the 122 pin connectors let me know. If you could post a pic would be great |

Don't worry, next time you do such an elaborate build I'll be there.
