The axles came from Toyota Corona's (I think) since they were equipped with 3SFE's from factory, engine mounts had to be custom mounted to new points as well.
Roman, this one's a FWD though, the 4WD's I think are the versions in Middle East, 4WD+Diesel IIRC. BTW had to relocate the battery to the trunk to fit the bottom half of the airbox, here's an updated pic: ![]() ![]() Here's how low it is from the ground ![]() ![]() |

I thought so too, (or I wanna make myself believe that) but I think the car still is biased towards the front as far as weight is concerned as the car sits I think 1/2" lower in front compared when it had a 4AGE 20v in there, the only advantage is I'm not experiencing wheel-hop as much as I expected since the front tires are well planted on the ground, shocks bottom-out though with even the smallest road irregularity.
Bah! well worth it though! hahaha! ![]() |

wow, nice, but should you consider some lower splash guards, cuz that oil filter can be knocked off by a stray rock...

great work man!!! and yea i was thinking the same thing about the oil filter. Maybe if the splash gaurds woun't fit you can fab somethig up to give it a little bit of protection.

![]() What I originally planned for was go for 15's, but with how this thing still spins the tires on 2nd to 3rd gear power shifts, I thought that it might have been a better idea that I got these since they are 16's wrapped on 205 45's. Now I'm in the hunt for a decent suspension upgrade, you guys think that a set of KYB AGX with a TEIN brand lowering springs be good enough? cause most of the locals here advices me to go no less than with coil-overs, would the difference be that big between the two? also would this improve the torque steer I get from the car when I nail it, as sometimes it really does make me switch half a lane against my will. (kinda scary... )Any other upgrades I may need to prepare myself as far as suspension upgrades go? (Bushing, stabilizers, etc) I'm also curious on the suspension setup you guys have, specially with the Celica guys since they have FWD as well, right? on a side note, I was left with no choice but to fill her up with 93-octane fuel as the station I get my 97-octane fill was way far before I run out of juice, is it bad? from the feel of it, I think it runs sluggish (or is it just in the mind), also it gives me the annoying backfire whenever I release the throttle and step on it again lightly, although when I first got the car back this was not the case, BTW my setup currently is after the headers, there's a 2" resonator and thats it.. I was thinking that it might have been the ECU learning my driving style and adjusted in a way to compensate for it is the reason why now it backfires like crazy... Any inputs and suggestions would be appreciated, FWIW I plan to do some weekend track work with the car. ![]() |
