BEAMS AFM pod filter adapter

I know they exist and have seen one but do not know where to find them. Currently doing an ST202 redtop conversion into ST184 and looking for the AFM adapter to mount a pod filter to. As the AFM housing is incorporated into the airbox the customer wants to convert to a pod filter.
Anyone know where to find one in Australia?

Beams doesn't use a AFM, it uses a MAP or MAF sensor.

Hey you know what I mean :P

If you want to get technical Toyota list it as an "Intake Air Flow Meter Assembly" so saying it is an Air Flow Meter is not wrong is it?

Whether hotwire, or trap door, or karmen vortex, they are all airflow meters.

They all measure airflow, afterall.

An alternative to buying an adaptor, is just cutting the airflow meter housing out of the airbox, and stick a pod filter on the end.

However if they're wanting any sort of warranty or garauntee on your work, then I'd not reccomend fitting a pod filter, or at the least, warning them that it may make the car run poorly, and based on my dyno comparisons, doesnt give any extra power.

I know exactly what your saying Roman and my first choice was to use the factory airbox. It's the customers decision to use the pod filter but if I can't find these adapters I am sure I can talk him around. He just already has the pod filter on the crummy 5SFE engine thats in it already.

only way to gain any real hp from a intake would be adding a camcon piggyback ecu so that you can tune it correctly. Am i right???

Ok before this thread runs away in the wrong direction I'm not after a pod filter for more power or anything else to do with performance. The customer simply asked whether we could retain the original intake system he has on the 5SFE and use it on the BEAMS engine. As it seems noone else knows of this part I'm looking for I will just tell the customer that to retain the BEAMS factory AFM we need to use the factory airbox, simple as that really.

5SFE? No way! Diameter is smaller, pipes run screwy too, also not made for MAF.
Just stick with OEM airbox, or DIY Fab one yourself, eBay item helps a bit, the 2001 V6 Camry one....just make sure the diameter is correct, sometimes they fumble on the sizes.
