new owner with a quick wiring question - Celica

I have a 1997 Beams (Celica) going into a 1994 Celica and I have a quick question about a wire.

I have all the wiring figured out to have the motor start/run in my car but I don't know about one wire. I have the redtop wiring info (for an MR2) and but it doesn't help me with this.

This wire is white w/black stripe (usually a ground color wire) in pin #12 on EA1, and on the chassis side there is no pin (wire). EA1 is the end of the engine harness that plugs into the fuse box in the bay. I've read nothing about this wire anywhere and I'm wondering what it's for. EA1 pin 2 is also w/b and that's a ground, should I just ground it also ?

anyone with celica redtop wiring knowledge that can help me ?

thanks

also a quick pic, we should be swapping next weekend

I just started this swap about a month ago. I am detailing my experience at 6gc.net This site is also a great resource and between the two you should be able to figure out about everything with the beams.

On another note, there is another member on 6gc.net with the exact screen name who is an expert on the wiring as I used him for a resource when hooking up mine. This is some crazy coincidence.

they are one in the same. lmao.
sometimes even "experts" have questions.

hey, that pic looks exactly like the inside of my garage!

D, when you were here last week did you try a continuity test on that wire to trace where it comes from?
we can do some testing this weekend, we need to get together anyway and pick up some gas and the hose for the welder.

LOL I guess its not a coincidence. Anyways Batman was extremely helpful with my swap when it came to the wiring.

That beams looks clean and looks to have come with everything. Which importer did you get it from? Good luck with the swap.

Manny, I have Sunday off, I'll give you a call today. I'm working mon, tues, wed, and thursday then the next 4 off for the swap.

I checked for continuity with that wire as a ground and got nothing. Next I'm gonna try for continuity with through the ECU pins. I'm thinking it goes to some sensor that isn't used on in the US, since no one has mentioned it.

anyone with the redtop celica wiring bgb ?
