Question BEAMS Black Tops - Auto vs Manual?

Hey All

What's the difference between the Auto and Manual versions of the BEAMS Black Tops?

Your website (Beams Owners Group) says that they have different part numbers for the valves, cams, head and block.
Assumptively this means that these parts are different.

I've been told that the Auto has smaller valves and lower compression.
Apparently this results in less kW but more torque.

Does this sound right?

Cheers!!

Auto has 11:1 compression, smaller ports, steel valves instead of titanium. 200hp

Manual has 11.5:1, bigger ports, larger titanium valves. 210hp

I think they both make the same peak torque, but at different rpms.

Thanks, Roman!!
Manual version it is then.

Out of curiosity:
Which version hits peak torque at a lower RPM?

The auto version.

What sort of car is it going to go in?

these engines have great low/mid range torque when in a fairly light car, not so great in Altezza though (1400kg?)

Would still pick a manual version given the option.

Sorry Roman.
Didn't notice your Q until I re-read this today.

I've got 2 manual Blacktops going into a '75 and '77 Celica (circa 1,000kg each - great fun!!!).
