Question BEAMS transmission question

so the BEAMS and 5SFE manual trannies / ECU's are interchangeable and the same but when it comes down to the automatic 5SFE and BEAMS transmissions, they a different and non-interchangeable?

i am thinking of using a BEAMS motor with an A/T ECU along with my stock 5SFE tranny...will that just plug right in?

you have to ground the NSW and you can use the manual tranny, but you wont have lsd as the beams tranny comes with one.

now the ecus are not interchangeable as far as i know.,

The 'NSW' pin thing only applies if you've got a *car* that came with auto, that you are converting to manual.

There's a solenoid or something which doesnt let you start the car, unless you're in neutral or park.

Problem being that when you unplug the auto box, it doesnt see that you're not in gear, so doesnt let you start the car.

If your car is manual and you're putting in an auto loom and computer, the wiring which requires the NSW switch is in a different part of the cars loom, so isnt needed.

I plugged an auto ECU into a manual loom/motor, worked fine with no changes required.

Am now running an auto loom/ecu with a manual gearbox, no probs.
