Thought I'd repost this here
Since it's up and running, just thought I'd get some pictures up of my beams mk1:
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I did this without cutting and re-welding the factory body mounts. Works out pretty well if I ever want to alter the position of the motor a bit, or go back to an A series motor. I don't think I will though. I'm pretty happy with the positioning. I ditched the manifold heat shields, cut the mounts, and had the manifold ceramic coated. This improved clearance a good bit. This is the replacement for my redtop mk2 (which is still up for sale). 500lbs less makes a noticeable difference. I used an s51 transmission from a Camry. At highway speeds, I'm barely on the throttle. It will be interesting to see what kind of fuel economy I get. I started this on June 10th. It moved under it's own power 3 weeks later. Pretty fast for a mk1.5 type swap. Main thing now is to get things cleaned up, and tie up all the loose ends. I'll probably try to track down a gen3 water outlet housing to tidy up some of my water lines. |

This is a bad place to post this question but in your first picture you have a sensor/valve/whatever hanging off the elbow next to the resonator box. Where does the other vacuum line connected to it go/ or more specifically where is it supposed to go.
and since I forgot well done swap. That should be quite a little fun car. |
