Beams Factory OS pistons??

HI guys name is Jody Forte Im in Barbados in the Caribbean, Currently I have a blacktop 20v ae86 levin, I have come on an oppertunity to get a complete blacktop beams minus harness ecu and tranny for 700US locallly, the engine is damaged (pistons, rings, posibly cylinder boring) I have seen motor and i know the owner and i know car was well pampered, but have yet to see it open, supposed to go with mechanic around friday to see it opened to check damage to cylinder walls and if any crank damage etc(hoping none) Anyway if engine does have to be bored was wondering if toyota makes oversized pistons for beams (86.5,87) or if my only option is forgies) would like to keep cost down so standards are preferred. i already know about fitting it and hurdles invovled. Would like to run stock motor with a power FC and blacktop 20v itbs (same as trd ones?) need to source a stock harness aswell, but main thing is do toyota make os pistons? Thanks

TRD makes oem and oversized pistons for the blacktop engine. They also make a lot more parts for it also to include the ITB adapter (which you can get from celicaRA45 from this board).

Anyway...here is the site.
http://trdparts.jp/english/parts_engine-3s-ge.html

They are a little expensive, about $1100.00 bucks american. unfortunately not a lot of people made pistons for this engine. Other makes will not work with the blacktop due to they have to be specially made because of the valve angles.

THANKS, I had sen the trd website before a couple times, Guess will have to wait and see if a bore is needed. at least i know option is there. Does anyone know if i need anything else besides the power FC to control the itbs, can i set the Power Fc to deal with the quad throttle intake setup, I would assume yes as its a full ecu and from what i read it has in a built in 3 bar map sensor. Yet someone locally who isrunning power FC on there altezza claims they couldnt install quads becuz of air flow meter, that didnt make any sense to me doesnt altezza have MAF sensor? amd either way wouldnt the Power FC built in map sensor be able to replace stock AFM or MAF? I have a megasquirt on my 20v with a built in map sensor and all we had to do was hook up a vacuum

PowerFC cant control quads... it can only really interface with the stock sensors, which is its downfall. the advantage though, is that it is plug and play, and runs all of the cars anicilliaries etc, same as factory ECU (which is quite a lot of stuff, with the altezza)

some powerfcs can work with a map sensor, but not the standard altezza one. It needs the air flow meter.

Yep you can get .5mm oversized pistons from toyota instead of TRD, it's what I've got in one of mine.
They cost about $400NZD and about $220 for the rings for them IIRC (so probably 3-400 bucks american?)

Well you could run quads, so long as you had a plenum and an airflow meter.

You could change the airflow meter to another one too, change injector sizes etc, but it's not as flexible as you'd think.

There's some versions called D-JETRO which interface with a standard BOSCH MAP sensor instead of the factory airflow meter or map sensor, but it doesnt appear that one of these is available for the altezza.

beleive it or not, the emanage ultimate can do itb's, you can add a map sensor, and then using some trickery, the emanage can then output a afm signal based on the map sensor, which feeds to the original ecu, and you can just ditch the afm and run of the map.... how well it all works is anybody's guess

the e-manage ultimate wont control the vvti, but yes it wont need to as the stock ecu is still there, if you wanted to tweak vvti you could use the v-manage which interfaces with the e-manage.

not sure yet, its only just out, its cheaper than the e-manage ultimate itself, but you'd need both. I am seeing it on nengun http://www.nengun.com/trust-greddy/greddy-v-manage
