Now see this is what is making me hesitant about getting a Greytop. I need to find out if the Caldina's are rated at 190hp or 180hp? Because the RAV4 Greytop is rated at 180hp.

Ok i have answered my own question. I thought that the caldina were sportier than the RAV4 so i figured why would they make them slower than red-tops? Well i still dont know the answer to that but i do know that they make 190hp or 140KW at 7k instead of the Rav4 which makes 180hp at 6.6K. So i have heard that some greytops have lower compression perhaps its the RAV4 Greytops beacuse of the lower power output? Looks like i might just go back to the greytop! im starting to think that the caldina ecu is the same as a redtop and the power loss is due to the Header only.

So it is as simple as changing the exhaust manifold then
Thank you for clearing that.
Another question for you glenn
Would there be any advantages sticking any of the Blacktop Parts in the Greytop/Redtop?

Hey no problem this makes life for me much more simpler aswell. I can live with buying headers but if i had to trace down a ECU that was going to kill me.

I can answer that aswell. There is no advantage of sticking blacktop parts in a stock redtop. Now for some reason you need to flow more fuel than blacktop injectors drop right in and are a good upgrade. Other than that there isnt much that is interchangeable that would net you performance.

^ man forget the black top. The lomg block is the same grey or red period. Auto in the grey tuned differently, exhaust different has cats in there.
Your going around in circles. Celica first as it would be cheaper than the grey to get to red top specs. Thats the first thing you need to answer and what condition it is in. Forget about extra power above 206 horses for now start with the basics first

I second Angelo's opinion. There's plenty of Celica red-tops out there for a very reasonable price!

this link is an ebay sponsered link has both a red top and grey top for sale. I don't have any experience buying through them so you'll buy at your own risk. Goodluck!

They are currently out of stock! They were the cheapest price online for a BEAMS swap but i couldnt find any reviews. I emailed them a week ago expecting nothing but i actually got a reply the next day so they might be legit. They said they might have one in about 3 weeks i told them to notify me when it came in.
