You can use an airbox from a 1MZFE powered car, so long as it's the VVTI one.

You mean you have one for sale? Where is broken? Is it usable?

Roman:
Thanks, I saw that the 1MZFE has the same MAF as the BEAMS, but I didn't know that the airbox is compatible as well.

Its for sale . The 2 metal spring clips are broken off. Useable yes if you tie down the top to the bottom somehow. Remember postage can be a lot from Australia.

Well, more or less. :P

I used a caldina one for my MR2, and am using a 1MZFE one for my carina.

Bodged a bit to fit, but does the job as good as any.

Do you have pics of the itbs? What ecu or mods to the ecu have to be made to run these?

yes I have pictures of the actual ITB's just give your e-mail, I may have already found someone local interested, I'll let you know if anything happen

you will need a standalone since you are no longer going to use your AFM (airflow meter)

I would have no problems getting the itb's, I just have no idea about any of the other types of ecu's. I will have to read up on some of the threads on them and get back to you.

no problem, you can use a couple of standalone... the easiest will probably be the megasquirt, not that hard to tune, not very expensive to buy... you can run a map sensor (cause AFM with turbo will be ....)

the question is YES VVTi works with the megasquirt the only thing... it's not longer a VVTI but only VVT since there is no longer the ''intelligence'' part... you choose the RPM you want it to kick and you put it in your megasquirt program

a friend of mine over here run a special setup in his mk1... a GZE shortblock, 4age 20V head, custom intake, t28 turbo, custom exhaust manifold, custom IC and couple more stuff, he runs a megaquirt, no problem at all, he is in front of a 3rd gen 3sgte and way lighter... not even need to retuned the car for the last year everything works perfectly (and there is a LOT of custom parts)

a megasquirt cost aroung 4-700$ depends where you get it and your ability to deal if you buy it used

Gabriel

come on guys this stuff will not be available for the next couple years... this is THE chance to get one of the rarest part available for the Beams engine

Hey Gab, c'est Phil, Charles de CP m'en a parlé de tes ITB's. Juis le "local guy who never called" :P

Phil
