Here's an other 3sgte vs 3sge Beams question

Well this discussion have been discussed a couple times already but just wanted to know something

we all know that 3sgte gen 2 and gen 3 exhaust manifold are not the same as the 3sge Beams exhaust manifold (this is what everybody say)

BUT

are the runners at the exact same place? is it only the exhaust flange that is not the same?

if the runners don't line up how far are they from each other? just wondering, if nobody can tell me I'll just grab a 3sgte exhaust manifold from a friend to compare with my 3sge beams exhaust manifold

Thx
Gabriel

The gen2 3sgte exhaust ports don't line up with the beams. They aren't even the same shape.

The gen3 ports might line up.

Thx I'll try to get a 3rd gen manifold to compare both ones

An other question, do you guys know if ARP studs from the 3sgte engine will work on the 3sge Beams (headstuds, main bearings studs, rod studs)

The runners are different on all models. So if your trying to find a tubular manifold to weld the exhaust flange onto it to make a turbo manifold, you are going to have to make modifications to the tubes. I know 3 of the tubes those match up to milimeters of each other, however the 4th runner is drastically different and will require a complete rebuild.

you might as well have a custom one fabbed up, it will probably cost the same and be easier.

As far as the ARP studs, "Turbo_Beams" used ARP head studs on his build however, I never got a firm answer as to which model number ARP studs he used. I can get you this answer, however it will take several months.

For the transmission, I am 90% positive the bolts are the same for all generation 3s engines, so regular ARP tranny bolts for the 3s will work. I'll check my EPC tonight and see if I can't confirm that.
