Im going to weld some mounting brackets on the intercooler.
Make a steel bracket and weld it to the engine support directly under it then attach the IC to it. Ive positioned the IC so that even when its in its resting place the manifold can still be taken off. |

Found a belt. Went to my local Toyota where a mate worlk in spare parts. Did l ever mention that its a girl
and hot !Well she smuggled me in the back and went through all the belts they have and found one. Its of a Landcrusier.( 1100 mm ) This belt is a 4 PK as im using my MR2 crank pulley. Also since tha alternator is for the Celica has a 5 KP pully but l have a new 4 PK pulley since l accidentally ordered it when building my engine without realising that when you buy an alternator it has the pulley attatched. Also another note on alternators both the Celica and MR2 have the same mounts But the connectors are in different locations and the Celica has a sheild most likely due to the close distance to the exhaust manifold. |

Can you help with this.
Water temperature senor for the EFI is located in the water outlet housing . TRUE ? I remember buying as its on the EPC water temperature sender where is that one located and is that for the instrument cluster gauge ? Oil pressure switch , where is that located ? Also another sensor on the block near the knock sensor looks like a big transister ? What is it. That side of the harness has the following connectors 1. Alternator 2. Positive alternator 3. 2 earth wires 4. Knock sensor ( that screws into the block ? ) 5. O2 sensor 6. ? Mister transister ?????? Also on the turbo last gen they use a air filter befor the MAP, i bought it also , so should i use it. As you can gather im writting a list of all the things i would like the Motec to control and or trgger. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated. List air inlet temp Engine water temp MAP Rotrex oil temp Water pump fo IC Water temp of IC coolant Fan for Rotrex oil cooler. Last question for now. The car has a fan in the side.Thats where im going to put my oil cooler with its fan for the Rotrex oil. The Motec will monitor the temp and turn on the fan accordingly. Can i parrallel the wiring for the comparment fan to this fan so when the comparment reaches 62 dgrees as per the manual this same fan comes on ? Even if the oil is not hot i dont mind the fan to go on as Rotrex recommends the colder the better as the oil is used for traction not cooling and if the temp is too high pop goes the Rotrex. From memory this just goes to the light on your dash, not to the ECU or anything. It could perhaps be useful to the ECU somehow depending on how clever you can make it, perhaps cut ignition when the light is on, or set rev limit to 1500rpm or something. Probably better off with a 0-5V oil pressure or temperature gauge if you want any meaningful input towards the ECU, but dont know how relevant it'd be. Quote:

cam angle sensor, VVTI solenoid, crank angle sensor, injectors x 4, coil packs x 4, oxy sensor, MAP sensor, intake temp sensor, coolant temp sensor, knock sensor, idle speed control valve, TPS. For things like switching fans on and off, I'd just use temperature switches activating relays to do it, keeping it completely seperate from the ECU. If it's not something that's somewhat relevant to the ECU keeping the engine running, I'd keep it all seperate. |

cam angle sensor, VVTI solenoid, (PWM?) crank angle sensor, injectors x 4, coil packs x 4, oxy sensor, (0-2v?) MAP sensor, (0-5v) intake temp sensor, (0-5v) coolant temp sensor, (0-5v) knock sensor, (0-5v?) idle speed control valve, (PWM) TPS. (0-5v) For things like switching fans on and off, i'd keep it all a seperate circuit from the ECU. |

Thanks Roman. Yeh the Motec will be doing all those things. Im going with the Motect 800 as i can have the Knock sensor modual on the circuit board an also VVTi control.
Its just with the unit i can sense trigger a lot of other things and dont want to miss anything. Hey i have no idea what that sensor is. I cant even remember the part number but i did buy it. I wonder if its some sort of filter fo the knock sensor |

Yeah it's something I've always wondered, but something I've never had to worry about apart from bolting it on, haha.

Picture taken will post it as soon as my daughter is home. Im hopless at it
HA.Now piecing the Celica alternator set up. The big banana mounting arm BEAMS version is very close to the belt approx 3 mm. To close for my liking so im going to cut it down to the bolt that holds the triangle plate connecting to the engine mount. I could use a turbo bracket because it has a different angle but it will look weird as the end will still have no place to mount. Really its of no consequence since the celica has its engine hook mounted to the alternator bracket. But out of all the engine mounts this one is the most difficult and a real PITA to remove. So all you guys putting a Celica BEAMS into a MR2 and keeping the alternator in the celica position, either cut the bracket or use a turbo one before you mount your engine |

Just found out something. The Red Top has a alternator bracket to close the water galery on the Celica, The MR2 has a bracket. The reason why there is an opening is because the BLACK TOP uses that opening for the water outlet !.............
So l looked on the EPC and there is a gasket available 16341-88570 |
