Nah not getting a billet crank. Just pointing out who can do it.
As far as tunning is concerned i havent decided yet there is also MP and Chasers where you go. What i realise is most places have strenghts and weaknesses for me and how anal i am. I never ghost price or look for the cheapest quote. No point in getting A tunner if he leans all over my car and scratches it. This is not a track car but a pampered car, As far as power well the Stock Beams is absolutely fantastic for me . Just want the edge over todays turbo's WRX , VW etc thats all but having had 3 turbo cars i absolutely hate them. Thats the reason for the Rotrex , even power. Since it will be 13-14 psi at 7,000 rpm thats a doubling of power minus losses will be close to 250 kw's. WAY more than enough. I dont have much time in my life also , most times i post past 1.00 am and i have brought up my girls by myself, but i love to help and TALK thats me. |

Next update,
made the brackets to hold the ECU. ill post pics and how i made them. On the side im also doing this. With my car and home audio background im going to intergrate the MoTec screen into a stock OEM Toyota double din CD player. I want it to look all Toyota especially the interior. Hate seeing the mis match of colors and texture by all the aftermarket stereos. |

These hopefully are the final parts that i need to get from Toyota.
OK the fuel system. Love how Toyota has put a few cars together essentially using common parts with slight mods to the particular engine. Lets look at the fuel rail. Now the body is the same b/w the Red Top and the Black Top but there are diffeances. Red Top fuel inlet one side, regulator on the other Black Top fuel inlet and dampener on top roughly in the middle, 2 bolts on both ends, no return. Black Top missing threads to 2 brackets that hold the fuel hose. In the caldina which is essentially a newer 3SGTE gen 4 they adopted a fuel dampener also. So got me thinking why not put all these parts together and adopt the best features. OK start with the Black Top fuel rail. One end put the GEN 3 Turbo fuel regulator. The other end add a Caldina Fuel Dampener. Since the Black Top rail has the spare thread on top of the rail , ill add a fuel pressure sender ![]() And lastly tap a couple of threads to the rail where the Red Top rail has them so as to add the brackets to hold the fuel hose. There you go , fanastic having Toyotas EPC for all their cars . Ive mixed Red Top , Black Top, Gen 3 Turbo , Caldina Gen 4 AND Altezza. to make one fuel system. All OEM and all thread to each other Only left to make another nipple to join the fuel pressure sender to the threaded hole on the rail which is neatly tucked under the inlet manifold. Will post pictures soon Last edited by MANDALAY; 09-12-2009 at 01:53 AM. |

altezza only has fuel in, no reg as it is in the pump in tank and it passes a fuel damper going in as well as in fuel rail

Looking good, the attention to detail makes my install look like a budget job
![]() Not sure about the location of the oil pressure/temp sensors though, I'd rather take the pressure from the head as you'll get a different (and usually lower) reading, hence why the stock sensor is there. Temp sensor is more tricky, you've got to hope it's not in a flow dead-spot in the sump or the only time you will see the temperature start to increase over normal temps is at idle. ![]() It was only after looking at my new parts that i had a closer look at the aluminium part of the sump. Those plugs had to be there for a reason . One could of been for internal machining but not the other one, no reason. Well both port directly in the flow line after the pump. i have been told with very good authority they are commonly used. Once the car is running we will be monitoring it to see how reactive and accurate they are |

Oh BTW also after the oil filter and what supplies the engine.
If the oil filter is having a blockage or to much pressure the oil is directed to the oil regulator ( see the post ) That would be more of a dead spot . Thats the 3rd grub screw that i didnt use |

![]() The Red Top rail is on the top. As you can see the bottom one Black Top is slightly different. Mounting for those brackets that hold the fuel hose are missing. Well ive shaped some aluminium and threaded holes in the rail so they can be mounted. Along with that made a couple of brackets to hold a solid pipe so as the vacuum from the manifold is directed to the BOV. As you can see the PR one end, the fuel line dampener on the other end. Also the extra threaded opening so as to make an adapter for the fuel pressure sender Motec again Honeywell unit ( DONT ASK how much they cost ) Last edited by MANDALAY; 09-19-2009 at 04:31 AM. |

Since the adapter was offset there was no way to machine the inside gallery. What you cant see is that the internal was drill on one side then a plug was welded then machined flat. Just in case any of you ask how did i do it.
Also had to make a few washers of various thicknesses to seal the adapter to the fuel rail so when it was torqued down it remained at right angles to the fuel rail. Well its of to get powder coated . Next you will see final product Last edited by MANDALAY; 09-29-2009 at 09:02 AM. |

Hello Mandalay,
I have been reading up on this thread since the start of it, and the photo's are absolutely amazing, every single detail has been thought up by you, I as everybody else would love to see this car finally finished, BUT, please, don't rush yourself, otherwise you may get sloppy in the finish. Just a question, what fuel will you be running? and have you thought about items like the final-drive, tires, and brakes for the car? as there are hardly any photographs of the vehicle. under my calculations, 14.7psi is roughly 80% extra power over stock, so saying 180-190 hp stock (remembering your lowering of comp ratio) you should have a touch under 400 hp! would be amazing to see |

Thanks mate.
Yeh its taking time but there is something going on all the time. Just takes time. BUT will start this weekend taking the undertray off to get to the fuel pump. Want to install the Walbro and run it first just to make sure. Block will be back soon and its off to get the short block done. Then its point of no return. Bumpers , engine lid , boot lid all off. Take the cylinder head off and its off to the builder, All the other parts wont come of this engine , i bought all new ones. Here is Aussie land I run BP premium 98. Brakes are std oem but we got the Turbo brakes here. I know the 1.8 2ZZ get 325 at the wheels on a stock engine so i dont think 350 is out of reach but im not chasing numbers , ild rather be safe thats why i bought the new MoTec knock sensor module. Dam its dear ![]() Ill be taking a lot of pictures you bet and also the wiring. |
