Serious . Im single maybe i should have 6 of them
But are they the prefered ?
Well ive secured the Beams Clip i bought so as i can do all the fabrication with out touching my car
So im going to start of with the SC bracket first. It will be steel and somewhat similar to the alternator bracket. Also its going to reside there. Ordering the SC next week.

A twisted analogy...

You know the opening scene out of saving private ryan? Beach landing?

Imagine that the job of your MAF or MAP was to count how many non dead soldiers you've got.

A MAF sensor counts how many soldiers leave the boat, a MAP sensor counts how many made it all the way up the beach.

Running an NA setup is like charging your soliders up a beach with no machineguns... May as well count them while they're still on the boat!

Adding a bypass valve after the MAF is like adding a machinegun on the beach...

Not all of your soldiers that run off the boat make it to the top of the beach, so makes more sense to count how many are 'left' rather than how many start out on the boat.

Mate , did see the movie and about the only one that will make me spew
Very sad . But its 2 in the morning and my brain aches .
You saying better MAP and no sence in having a bypass after the MAF ?
My tuner wants to go MAP with the MoTec but it eliminates the knock sensor , but tells me not to worry as tunning will make sure no knocking will happen. But what bypass valve to use

MAF and boost works fine together but you must use a recirculating valve/ diverter valve that will reciculate the excess air back in the air tract to be remeasured by the MAF. Only MAP equipped cars should use BOV's, this is a mistake made by lots of people to get that silly pssht noise. Also using a recirc valve helps spool faster and doesnt throw away good boost out to the air.

I wouldnt lose the knock sensor at all, I dont care who tunes it. No tune is guarenteed 100% even stock tunes on the ECU can go screwy.

MAF or MAP doesn't matter, either works. But with MAF you have to have a bypass plumbed into the system (as said above).

The bypass needs to be after the 'compressor' (sc/turbo) near the throttle plate if possible. And be plumbed back into the intake 'behind' the MAF sensor, but 'before the compressor. IF you let it go to atmosphere (IE bov) the computer doesn't calculate the fact that it has 'lost' the air in the intake system and can cause it to stumble, and occasionally die letting off throttle w/no load due to over fuelling. Also, on these systems if a BOV is used and it's allowing excess air to be 'lost' under boost while driving hard the ecu will run overrich there as well. Possibly leading to loss of power, bad mileage, fouled sparkplugs, etc...

I don't see any reason why going to a MAP sensor will elimate the knock sensor. What is the guy smoking?

Andrew

No, knock is a mic which 'listens' to the engine... it's completely seperate. MAP meausures air pressure (vac/boost). Seriously though, I'd be scared as all get out to bring my car to anyone that said something like that.

I think its not the fact of going MAP its because its the MoTec ECU.

Guys
looked at the wolfkatz link and with their setup on 550 injectors they had the stock FPR.
only after increasing the size of the injectors do they change the FPR. Is that correct.....
On the EPC the turbo and N/A regulators are different numbers , so l would assume that the Turbo one is bigger . Would it be ok to use it or just get an after market one like theirs.
Remember i know **** about regulators be gentile with me
I'll get the walbro high pressure 255 in tank and 440 or 550 injectors.
Remember stock appearance.
Is the adjustable regulator there so the tuner can dial a bigger number to support the fuel being used and maintain constant pressure

OK Did a lottttttttt of reading...................
Can we have agreement on the following list.
Walbro 255 high pressure intank fuel pump
550 injector RC or SARD with the appropriate connectors to the factory loom ( l aint cutting it ! )
Aeromotive FPR like the one on lovehorsepower ( i hate those colous ! painting it BLACK )
2 DEGREE colder spark plugs.
WILL THAT TAKE CARE of my fuel demands.
Simple yes / no would be ok, BUT adding comments would increase my knowledge and possibly others in the future.
And also the recirculating BOV . Which one GReddy, hks, turbo smart etc , etc so many.
I noticed that the HKS has also another line pressure in so that the valve doesnt open on idle.

Well it looks we can add another ECU to our list. The LINK STORM .
It has VVTi control and you wouldnt believe it the distributor and workshop is literally across the road from me 200 meters
Half the price of the MoTec 400.i

There is also the adaptronic, which is supposed to be capable of dual VVTI. A guy with a blacktop beams in his ae86 has it. He's in AUS as well...

Haltech also can control single VVTI. They don't do dual (yet? maybe? never?....)

walbro yes....
i would go with RC Injectors, cheaper, more precise, matched flows etc
usually they come with the denso style connector, like we use....yes
colder plugs yes, watch the gaps.....yes
Aeromotive comes in black too....yes
for BOV go for Bosch if you want, they can look OEM if you get the ones on VW/Audi's
I personally like the SARD R2D2 because of its low profile and pretty cool sound.
The HKS one you are talking about must be the SSQV which, yes works great, and doesn't do a number on boost creep.
Synapse Engineering has a cool design behind it and some serious hoopla about how they are better than everybody else....

Walbros are annoyingly noisy.. I guess if you have a loud exhaust it doesn't matter too much, but the high pitched whine really got to me in my car..

Ok the jurys in. Im settling on an installer and to quote him ( his history and installs are impecable ) l dont have to upgrade the FPR.
with bigger pump and injectors and the power gain l want there is no need. The MoTec will take care of it all. If needed at all and highly doubts it cause he has turboed MR2's is to put the Turbo FPR.
BTW MoTec has only JUST introduced a knock sensor for closed loom operation and ill get it. Settling on the MoTec , dear yes but its ability is truely amazing

Next what about using the factory turbos Vacuum and Temperature sensors for my MAP set up as the MoTec reads all Toyota sensors. Where does the Factory Temp Sensor go
in ?

First oder placed. Water radiator for the A/W Intercooler.
Purchased from England, Rogue. Why i have bought this one is B/C it is specifically made for the MR2 upfront to sit behind the bumper and the Air Conditioning Radiator and uses Factory location mounting points . NO CUTTING
With the right A/W they have used it for up to 700 HP cars.
ECU MoTec sorted out, man the capabilities of the 400 are truley amazing. And with the new closed loop knock sensor sold me.
