redtop TPS and speed sensor inquiry
I managed to find myself a redtop BEAMS from an ST202 in Canada for a very good price. The vendor provided ample pics and compression numbers which helped seal the deal and provided fast shipping to boot. It now resides at my friend's shop which unfortunately is a 1.5hr ferry ride away so I can't check over the engine myself. However when my friend looked over it briefly, he noted the TPS was broken (which the vendor won't cover) and the wiring for the speed sensor was pulled.
So what I'd like to know... 1. Does anyone have a redtop TPS they want to sell me, better yet can anyone tell me from what USDM car the TPS is available from if at all? 2. My friend would like to know what way the wires go in on the speed sensor so he can re-install them? Any help is greatly appreciated! |

TPS looks like the most common thing that is broken with clips.
I think servin had the same problem. Ask what he did as an alternative. mr220v can help you with the wiring. Im sure the speed sensor wiring is just a part of the engine loom. As oi have quoted before the only help ill be is with OEM engine parts that are std. Others will have to help you with other model fitments. PS remember your going to spend a few $ on other items water pump, oil pump , clutch , flywheel resurfacing , Head G etc which might need doing. |

I used one from a 1ZZ motor which is in the spyder, corolla, anything that used that motor. I think it cost me 35 bucks.
mr220v will tell you the wires or search for the wiring diagram thread. |

Thanks Mandalay and Servin! I'll ask one of my friend's (Toyota parts guy) to find me a 1ZZ TPS (and maintenance parts while I'm at it) and I'll forward the wiring diagram to my other friend.
