Just out of curiosity you guys that have done swaps and especially those with lower power have you all checked to see the filter that is used before the VVTi mechanism is not blocked ? Its very small about an inch by half inch

you need to check the oil control valve or oil solinoid as this is the 1st 1 we have had a problem with ,and it makes a big difference

How can it be accessed? Can it be cleaned if dirty or need to be replaced?

Gleen would not even suggest that. Im purely pointing it out just in case our members dont even know that it exists. Having bought every part to the engine once before and buying that part again made me wonder whether that could be an issue and possibly over looked.
Thats all. I dont consider myself a Beams expert at all. I rely on other members help and hopefully i can help others. |

Surely you just need to take the cam cover off to get at it, not head fully off? Although I think it's important to do up or undo all of the cam caps in sequence, part turn at a time?

True Roman. But the cams have to come off and also if i remember correctly that front section has the black silicon.
Just pointing it out for those who just installed their engine without taking it apart. It was one of the first items that was going to be replaced when i opened up my SRK clip before i just ditched the clip. One of many items that was crap due to the very long time this clip was in the yard standing |
