Hey wayno, Just wondering if you could shed some light as to what duration cams you are running now? Also have you got some rev 6 head lights? Did you get them from Rogue motorsport or some where else? I am looking at getting these.

If anyone is chasing anymore detailed info on the work done to the motor please speak with Glenn (Celica_RA45) as all this is his handy work which I respect and therefore will leave it up to him on what extra info he wants to let you all know about.
Quad Headlights: I made my own custom set which was finished till they were damaged. Now I run a Quad Flush Mount set instead, no more pop-ups! I won't be making any copies at this stage either as I really just want to get my car finished first. ----- Ok completed all the wiring today on the engine side and for all the guages... next is the motor!! ![]() |

What I'm saying is I don't know the answers you seek so please ask Glenn and I've spent the last 10 years helping people with their modifications if I can help I will! There's no need to be hostile with me as I've never been hostile to you or anyone on this board but thank you for your words maybe next time you could PM me instead.
Another thing don't ever call me un-Australian again, that comment saddens me! |

here ya goes guys no need to fight over that. i emailed
as the cams are bigger in lift and duration you cant move the inlet as much or they will hit the pistons so i have to modify the cam controller to stop the movement from 26 cam back to 10 cam /as it takes a fair bit of work to do this it costs 400 change over Last edited by BonzaiCelica; 08-04-2009 at 12:31 AM. |

why did you go with a 3" exhaust?
is 3" exhausts for turbo engines only?? |

Street car? Well....depends where you want the "power" to be, unrestricted exhaust (or HUGE diameter exhaust pipe) will usually mean high top-end power & lose some torque + hp during the rest of the RPM range. Want the scavenging/cavitation to "help" your engine to move things along? Go smaller diameter pipe....then again adding a Cat/Resonator/Muffler to the mix greatly affects what the diameter of exhaust pipe is doing for you. My experience: 2.5" pipe from the 4-2-1 collector on back to a "straight-thru-fart-can" was retarded in the low end...the thing would just not get going untill the VVTi "kicked in". Added some crap resonator fixed this a bit, gained some low end torque. Removed the fart-can & added a Vibrant straight-thru muffler, slighly better results but the noise was tamed very nicely. Popped out the crap resonator & replaced it with a quality Vibrant resonator, lowered the noise down to a nice rumble and no real big power improvements.....then I added a high-flow cat also from Vibrant. Now here something happened, rumble got even deeper and much more evil sounding, some power improvements, which I have no idea if they are *just* from adding the cat or from adding this little fanagle I made while bored at the machine shop....basically made this piece of pipe that consists out of 3 sections of 2.5" pipe that has been reduced at one end by about 0.25" and put into the tail end of the next piece of 2.5" pipe.....basically like welding 3 reducing pieces of pipe into each other....I did this just on a hunch & sort of a "whatever lets try something" idea....I figured it might help the cavitation and/or scavenging.... But yeah, my ramble aside...it all depends on what you wanna use the engine/car for. Generally, anything with a turbo is best to allow as much unrestricted flow as possible, be that either from a lack of muffler/cat/resonator or from using huge diameter pipe. |

ok thanks for that explanation puretone. I would mainly have it for street use.
As of right now i have 2.25" piping on my weak 7afe engine. If i were to get the redtop. I know i would have to reroute the piping for the exhaust since 7afe and 3sge header are different set up. With bolt-ons on the redtop, 2.25" piping should be fine right, thats what it comes up as from the factory? Last edited by BonzaiCelica; 09-04-2009 at 10:48 PM. |

I think in the Celica's AT200 all the way to ST205 the exhaust all take the same route under the car don't they? If anything the ST205 would be the only odd one out I presume.... I think OEM exhaust on the ST202 SS-3/BEAMS is 2.25 inch indeed, possibly from the 4-2-1 collector (2.5" OD) it would reduce, mine from the flex-pipe back is 2.5", thus I never reduced mine anywhere. Your WEAK (spelling spelling spelling naughty boy) will be a lead weight compared to the BEAMS engine. I had my exhaust custom made from the 4-2-1 collector on back. Any muffler shop that worth half their asses should be able to make one for you for around 200$ I would think. |

Thats my mates workshop WTFauto! Called WTF because thats exactly the sort of engines he builds and tests WTF!?! He's been very keen to get his hands on a NA motor for sometime now so I'm sure he will have it up and running pretty quick. He currently drives a blown V6 MR2 but mainly specialises in Toyotas!
