Parts go-to guy?

Finally got my Redtop on the stand and have started ripping into it. Who should I get in touch with to get a timing belt, tensioner, pulley, gaskets, ect? Also, do I need to order a Gen 3 oil pump as well or will a Gen 2 work?

See if someone from Japan can answer your thread. If that fails i can get everything for you but its a 4-5 week turn around. Need to order first then comes here then send to you. Ive just rebought all those parts for my new SC build. But you need to be specific on the parts.Tensioner ? timing belt or or air con belt.Pulley which one; Where do you have your alternator positioned.

Some of these Items can be used from the usdm motors like t-belt water pump and gaskets but dont quote me on that! I do know that the acc belts, alt and a/c you can reuse the 5sfe belts and crank pulley!

^ ONLY if he has the alternator in the stock MR2 position. Remember most will be Celicas

I'll be running the alternator in the lower position, and swapping pulleys so there is no interference issues. A month turn over time isn't much of a problem, there is still some prep work to be done.

If you do put the alternator in the stock MR2 position you will be missing the bracket that blocks the water galeery where the celica alternator bracket is. pulleys ets.
Or you can custom block it . IVE written in detail all the things that are different B/W the MR2 and Celica in a thread. All are not necessary to do the swap however there are differences

By the way, you're in 'Bama, might not be sucha hike to get someone in Canadialand to see if they can't import/export these parts. There are plenty of JDM rigs running around over there and I suspect there might be more than just on Canadian Toyota dealer (that I could find...) that has the ability or legally order JDM parts.

Let's see well its one of the last remaining places in the united states with large regions of rural counties, generally comes last in nationwide polls i.e. schooling, and first in negative polls i.e. obesity. Also the brunt of incest jokes cause its legal to marry your cousin there. 99% of the population is hillbilly/redneck hybrid. Its also very southern which will probably mean nothing to you being your from Aussie.

I could go forever about it and tell you about it's brother Mississippi but that's better saved for a US history class.

But I have to admit Im southern too bein from Texas so I can poke fun all day!

Here's one example of good ole Bama smarts!

Country-folk, think the south won the war, think all democrats are homosexuals and think the same of anyone that doesn't like guns or have a V8 in their "truck", breed with their sisters & other family members, think folks of different race & colour should all be slave && Baby Jesus & God are universal-win. I suspect most of them think Australia is probably Afghanistan & everyone there is Usama Bin Laden

He just kinda trolls around the southern lesser inhabited areas of TX. Occasionally there is the mysterious shooting but then news disappears about it. We just sacrifice some folk to feed his need to kill that way he doesnt go berserk and go after the rest of the country.

At Tasmania has an excuse being a improvised nation but Alabama is part of America! Just goes to show we arent that advanced as we like to gloat about.

Some of us have indoor plumbing too. Anyway, the alternator bracket is going to stay there until I feel like either having one machined, or finding someone with spare parts. Speaking of, if anyone has a spare Beams water outlet or block off plate shoot me a PM. No one has chimed in about the oil pump either. Will a Gen2 work like the water pump?
