TOYOTA 3S GTE failure

I have a serious turbo problem:
We installed a 3SGTE engine in our MR1 endurance off road race car (3 hour race with deteriorating terrain think motocross, very popular in belgium)
The engine features a Mitsu Lancer Evo III turbo, and spools up at around 1800rpm. we ride at 400gr turbopressure 205 hp and 260Nm torque.
We also ride with a oil cooler system.
After a few hours of racing (7-8 hours) the engine starts dropping power and really falls of the pipe making no more rpm. Eventually oil comes out of the carter ventilation and the rngine fails. Some inspection revealed that the rod of the 4thcilinder has some freeplay on the crankshaft (krukas). We wasted 2 engines this way.
Anyone have an idea what is going on, I was told that this occours often on these engines. Is it the oil? oil pressure drop dew to oil cooler? or just weak design? installing a heavier oil pump (does exist apparently)?
Id love to build it back up because it is a real rocket when it works together with the DTA ECU and the super evo III turbo. The dirt flies like 50 meters away from the rear tyres, an amazing feeling in a car of 800kg. I'd like to rebuild it during winter stop.
Do there exist special crankshafts, rods and pistons (like WRC blocks made from these engines). That ofcourse fix the above problem.
Almost forgot, we build a 3SGE beams red top in the car now, 200hp and 216Nm torque. It is supposed to be super strong but the downside is that we need to haul ass with this engine against the BMW M5's and SUBARU turbo's in our heat. Its a bit low on torque, but havent riden it due to wiring diagrams needing to be sent over from Japan.
