yeah, if you look more into the same thread. that red mr2 i made the side molding for is now a black mr2. and i still think the side molding look great as black. but, i saw your finish touch with your red side molding. and it look like it turn out better then mine.
i'm still waiting for your car to be finish so we can all check it out at one of our mr2's meet. even if you don't have your car yet. why don't you come on out to the next one and check us out. our next meet is on nov 1 in the woodland. so, that should be easy for you. |

You can't mix aluminum and steel, on the bolts or the car. They are dissimilar metals and will cause galvanic corrosion (rust). That in time will cause your bondo to crack out and fall apart as well as rust out your filler, the bolts and any metal part of the car that it touches.

i think they look great. i bet if you used them to make molds, then made new ones out of fibreglas or carbon fibre you would never have to worry about any of the cracking, or rusting problems others have brought up....... with molds, you can easily reproduce them, and maybe make some $.

cant used my molds. My car is a bit diff from a normal mr2. YOu would have to make your own molds from a stocker and reproduce those.

Actually, it can, and working in a bodyshop I've seen it a few times. I would have personally used a structural adhesive to make the moldings out of as it'll generally stand up to abuse better but I gotta give credit where credit's due, you did a great job making these.
