How to paint parts

Hello. After crashing my front I've decided to go with a kit. Instead of paying an amigo few hundreds to paint it, I really want to learn how to paint, clear coat, as well as color sand buffing myself. Can anyone please tell me some instructions on doing so? I'm trying to paint these few border pieces in gloss black to match my car. Any inputs would be great. I am serious about learning this! Thanks a lot.
