Tirerack only sells items online that they know will fit. If you call them and tell them specifics you can order whatever you want. They will just give you a disclaimer telling you its not on them if it does not fit. In example say you want a 15x7 front with a certain offset, and a 15x8 in the rear with a certain offset. then you select tire brand and size. Just because its not listed online does not mean that they cannot get it for you ![]() -adrian |

^ Exactly my point! The Tirerack staff is not the bible on wheel/tire fitment. I shouldn't change my alias. Tirerack has been wrong so many times they should change their name to TireWrong.com.

Exactly what I posted "Tirerack.com" website does not give u the option to select a unique size unless u call.

Yeah, one has to call - on-line stuff is too rigid. Whenever I order tires from them the first thing they ask is what car I have. The first thing I tell them is that I'm ordering for display purposes only, not a car. Then I order exactly what I want and they never end up knowing the car make.
And for MKII owners: Another way to get new wheels and more extreme fitments is to shop on-line using either a 350Z or a '95ish Mustang because there are different wheel sizes and tires available for those cars that will work on an MKII - you just have to know exactly what you're ordering and the offset limits of the car. |

![]() 17x7.5 all around with 205/40/17 front and 205/40/17 rear.. +35et Got a great deal on these.. so I'm trying them out.. But, if I keep them I will go with 215/35/17 front and 225/40/17 rear, maybe and change the color of them also. I have coilovers and my car is pretty darn low. The front will rub the fender lip if you don't dial in more than a degree of neg. camber or you can trim the front fender lips and run less neg. camber.. I'm running TRD stage 2 alignment .. so 2 degrees neg. up front. The front is were you will get the problems when you car is as low as mine and with these sizes.. |

You had too high of an offset rim.. hence you have to use 205 tires. Not saying 15 isn't the way to go.. b/c I do agree with you.. 15" is the best for most MK1's.. unless you have over 300hp or something like that you need wider than 225 tires.. finding wide 15" rims in 4x100 and tires is not easy. However, 16" and 17" are for looks only for the most part. It depends on what you prefer. |

tksmr2,
Nice looking MR2....I love the stance of the MR2 in the pictures. This is the look I am going for on the street and maybe a set of 15's with wider tires for the track. What kind of coilovers are u using? and how much of a drop from stock? Thanks Rich |

I'm gonna vote 15" as well. Mostly from a performance standpoint, not to mention ride comfort. After switching from 205/40/16 to 205/50/15 I could immediately tell an increase in acceleration and braking. Literally felt "lighter on its feet".
I usually don't like the look of 17's on a MK1 either (cartoonish). However, tksmr2's ride is stunning. Good job man. |

Hey, I recognize your car from **********.
Did you have to roll your fenders (as well as fit the ZG fenders) to accommodate the 8 inch rims up front? Do you have any rubbing issues? Your car is going to look sick once you get the rear wheels fitted. Nice pic btw - luv the dust! ![]() edit - OMG! they "bleeped" out the name of the other forum! That's funny.
