Upper strut camber kits?
I was wondering if there was an after market upper strut support that has adjustments for camber/caster. I've seen the shiitty small bolt you can put in where the strut connects to the knuckle... Id rather do it the right way.
Any help would be much appreciated |

plenty of people set track records, log hundreds of track hours, and win countless autocrosses on the "******" bolts fwiw
good luck with the search I've seen a few not-so-great caster/camber plates for the Mk2, no clue on the Mk1 - will likely require a conversion to coilovers as well |

I just found some by Ground Control...I saw them on a sick little MK1 project car.
299.ea !!! Idk...that seems steap, but If I dont have a choice... $2,200 for front/back CamberCasterPlate and coilovers all around. Yikes. Im lookin to redo the whole engine too... I hope its worth it whats fwiw btw? Would you really vouch for those bolts over a CCP? I'll get them if my research points me in that direction...but I need to see reviews, I just wanna do it right the first time Last edited by 86MrWhite; 09-25-2008 at 11:45 PM. The MKI already has stock eccectric adjusters on the top bolt front and rear. With that being said, I could only get about -1.1 deg front camber on my 88 with them. I got the Ground Control camber plates for the front and now can get as much as I want - currently about -2.6.

The front pair of Ground Control camber plates was $299 IIRC. But if you count half the coilovers, half the Konis, a couple of ball joints, tie rod ends, and some bushings, I spent more like $900 on the front.
I first tried to put the third party eccentric camber bolts in the bottom holes in the front and work them in conjunction with the stock eccentric adjusters that are in the top, and it got me from -1.1 to about -1.9, and they were a royal freakin pain the ass to install and uninstall, and they still didn't get me to where I wanted to be. I wouldn't ever mess with them again. John |
