Ok this is the research I found and would like anyone's opinion.
According to MKI MR2 Write-ups the stock spring rates on the aw11 are: Front=91lbs/in. Rear=131-211lbs/in. Now the D2 coil overs I will be buying have the set spring rates as follows: Front=253lbs/in. Rear=393lbs/in. Website says 4.5kg/mm and 7kg/mm. I used Spring Rate Conversion Chart link to convert them. Anyway, custom spring rates are offered. Would the current spring rate be too harsh for road conditions as a daily driver with the intent on taking to the track? Custom spring rates (3.5, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 18, and 22 kg/mm) |

Keep in mind that coilovers were designed for track use and easy adjustability, not for ride comfort. Any good coilover set you buy is going to be stiff or at least stiffer and firmer than a stock set up. You can probably live with rates close to the 250F-350R combination.
