Looking for 5 star rim info...

I was wondering if anyone knew who makes a 5 star rim like the one this model, but for the real cars of course? I know that TSW used to make them for BMW'S, but I never saw the smaller sizes. I like the concave look and most new rims are convex.

Hey man, I've thought about wheels like that as well but I have not been able to find them. I found some similar to those but were drag racing wheels which cost at about $240 each. Let me see if I can find them again just to be sure.

That would be cool, I would like to see them. So far I don't know if any company actually makes anything like this. I just like the stance they give the cars. I know there are others, but hey, you can stop wishing.

I have a set on the car I just bought. But by five star I take it you mean like five "spokes"? If so I think the brand is PCW but I'm not sure. My car is in the shop getting the front end fixed so I can't check.

Okay I guess so..

Star, five spoke...that's why I put that picture of them up there...a picture is worth a thousand words right...you do have a 5 spoke, but nothing like the picture of the ones on the model. Plus yours are convex like most being sold today. I prefer the concave look. I just like the way they look and with exactly just the 4 holes and not a bunch of holes around the hub.

Sorry, my "wheel whore online buddy" (lol) hasn't been on for some help but I do know Lensos make them.

*The Un-Official MX-5 Miata Lover's Thread* - Page 4 - D-series.org

Middle of the page. Look through that whole thread if you want. Might help you make choices on different wheels. Miata people do a hell of a job

Sorry about that...

I didn't mean it in a bad way, just wondering if something like that exist in smaller rims that's all. That miata page is nice, but takes forever to load...now you know why you guys need to scale your images right? Good.

Thanks Robbie

Getting warmer there robbie. Those things are huge though. I'm just glad I asked about these. I'm sure someone may find something someday.

I gotta say...

I hate the forums, not because they're bad, but because once I get into them I just want to read everything...ahhhhhhhh! And I have this car and looking at all your nice cars makes me want to make mine nice darn it, but it's hard work and I want to buy things that I can't afford!!!

NOTE to self...class tonight don't forget, and need to read (scan now) chapter too, and look for work so you can buy stuff for the car that's falling apart.

If you want some nice looking 5 spoke wheels that are not too flashy, buy some Spyder wheels and call it a day.

Here is burnsm's car, not sure if he still has it though.

I agree...1

Those are nice wheels too. You're right it's not the flashy thing I'm going for, just have this specific look in my brain that's all. Just a design thing with me. The others I thought would look good too where some that look like a four spoke or an x depending on how you look at them. That's just me though, but I think I saw one car with those so I have to look again. I can't quite remember if the x were concave though. I really have no idea what they are called. I like the simplistic clean look that's all.

Yup, go with what Davis said. I wanted a factory look, not some cheesy aftermarkets. Spyder rims were a no brainer and they are OEM Toyota.

Put an ad out on Craigs list for 2000 - 2005 MR2 Sypder rims. I found a set of '03 fronts from a guy locally for $100/pair in mint condition. The rears were a little harder to come by (since they're 16's), but I found those for $180/pair shipped. Total cost for the rims, $280. It took some patience and a lot of emailing/calling around but it was well worth it.

Also, you can try to find them on Spyderchat.com: The Online Community for Toyota MR2 Spyder Enthusiasts!. You'll see a set for sale weekly, but most of them want $300-$400 for all four rims and don't like spliting them up for some reason. Dam you MK3 owners!
