'85 rear brakes quick question

My father tells me he's done rear disc brakes on a few GM's in the past and they were an absolute bear- and reccomends that I just buy "loaded" calipers with new pads and replace the entire getup instead of just the pads on my 85 mr2.

The calipers do need to be cleaned and greased, so new ones would probably save me some time, but I'm just wondering how hard they really are- if they're not much harder than the front brakes, I'll just do it the old fashioned way.

Note that neither myself or my father have ever done brakes on a toyota

Looking to do this job after work in the coming days, so I was thinking I'd be picking up pads tonight if we go that route. Any takers on advice?

Rear brakes are cake, you will need a rear disc brake caliper tool to compress the rear pistons. They ride on a screw and as such need to be twisted back into there bores.

yeah, I found out today. Easiest rear disks I've ever encountered, 5 points for this car. Thanks

Actually, now that I've already got a post open on the subject, I replaced all four wheels pads tonight with the help of a friend, but the driver-side rear caliper was all screwed up, and we managed to damage/tear the rubber boot on the caliper sliders.

Something tells me this isn't a napa part- where can I order this?
