helppppppp STUCK
i have a 86 mk1 and under the car were the whole suspension is bolted on on the rear there are the nuts inside the frame and are welded one of nuts is missing so the screw just slides in and out cant just buy a new nut because i cant get inside the frame what can i do i cant weld dont have a machine

Are you talking about where the suspension arm bolts to the frame? The opposite end of the suspension arm is the rear tie rod. From looking at the images in the BGB (page RA-40), there appears to be a round opening that you could access the "backside" where presumably a nut had been welded. You would probably need a wobbly socket (or universal and a socket) and an extension, or perhaps a long slender pair of needle nosed pliers to get the nut started.
Please provide a more detailed description of the piece that you are working on, or what you were doing that required its removal. |
