89 sc steering wheel shakes at 110km/hr help - Page 2

Well my car had the same problem and it still does the only thing that is still not fixed are my rear strut rods some idiot decided to jack up the car by there so they are bent pretty bad and it shakes at about 65 mph it goes strait but it feels wobaly and the steering wheel isnt strait mabey it could be that but could be wrong im only 17

Just had the same problem, it was a bent wheel. The give-away to my mechanic was that one of the wheels had a lot of weight on it to get it into balance.

Any pics of these hub rings? When I have all 4 lugs in but not tight on my Spyder wheels, there is no play that a ring could take up or center.

spyder wheels dont need them tho. maybe a defective tire or bent wheel. check all the air pressures and look for flat spots/bubbles on the tires.

i have already tried two sets of rims on the car and the first set is volk racing wheel had them on the car for 4-5 years never had the issue. and the other set was a set of rotas. boths sets of tires were balanced.

Nobody mentioned it here yet but perhaps your wheel bearings are shot. It seems like you have tried pretty much everything else.

I know when i had a similar shaking issues at highway speeds it was a combination of bend rear tie rod, wheel balance and alignment. I did however wiggle the wheels around while inspecting to see if maybe the wheel bearing were on their way out.

Worth a shot.

Wheel bearings were reaplaced 5days ago... no change.
