need help with first mr2 purchase

is any one here very knowledable with mr2 i found one in SC but dont really know much about them lookin for someone who knows to go with to look at the car and tell me what needs to be fixed .....please help me

give it a compression test and check for coolant in the oil. See if it starts.

Your buying a car thats mroe than 20 years old though, so rust, and blown struts are almost to be expected. It depends on what year it is, but the SC's hold there value better than the NA's, of course you should remember that few ppl make money off buying a mr2 and reselling it after restoring, youll probably be several thousand in the hole when your done.

im not really worried about the rust and struts i need someone to check it out mechanically motor and tranny wise

where are you located?.....not much of a description just that its a 93t with a jdm motors swap . but when i called him he told me that the only problem with the car is that when he hits 2500 rpm the check engine light comes on and gives him code 52 the knock sensor. but i just wanna make sure that it not more then that. more then what i would have to fix it quick
