Biltmore Visit & Dragon Run
OK, at some point in December, I am going to drive up to the Biltmore (to see it all decorated for Christmas) and then take a run (or two) thru the dragon on the way home. This will likely be an overnight trip for me. Anyone care to come along? Maybe the 10th and 11th of December? Just trying to get a feel for the best weekend.
Thanks! & Happy Halloween |

I have an idea for you . Since you mentioned seeing Biltmore in Lights. I would enjoy taking a round of Mr2's through here.
http://www.bristolmotorspeedway.com/...5Fin%5Flights/ BTW- There is a nice little town about 1 hour or so from here called Mars Hill. Great little hotel there. Or you could stay at the Grove park Inn or the Biltmore Estate Hotel. |

OK here's my plan so far. I started mapping this out for myself last night, and I need to reverse the order for my own sanity. So friday evening I will leave SC after work and head to Robbinsville. Doubt I will make it all the way, so I will stop and get a hotel at some point. Then get up Saturday morning and get to the dragon. I have to leave the dragon by 1pm, so I should be able to get a few runs in and some lunch (hang out with anyone who can make it), and then head to Bristol. I plan to stop for dinner before getting to Bristol, but hope to be at the track, in line around 6pm. I was told the line can get long. Afterwards, I'd love to hang out with anyone who made it. Then I'll grab a room for the night. In the am (sunday) I'll get up and head to the Biltmore, spend the day there (addmission closes at 5pm), then grab dinner and head home. It's 4 hrs from Ashville to home for me, and with a dinner stop should get me there around 10pm. That works for me!
Question is does that work (in part or in whole) for anyone else? The weekend is Dec 17th & 18th. I can provide more details as the time gets closer. I'd love to put a face with some others on the board, if you can make it. It's over 700 miles for me round trip. Woohoo! Lets Roll! Happy Holidays! |

I maybe able to meet the 6PM thingy at Bristol. If you go near Johnson City ,TN . Try Cheddars for a great dining experience. You might also want to think about your dates. The weather here can be very unpredictable that time of year. One year there is beautiful weather , the next we are seeing snow drifts that cover the doors to our home. Go figure.

Thanks Eric, a blizzard might cause me to abort the mission. But by planning this far out, I can't consider weather just yet. We did decid if it was snowing, we would skip the dragon. I'm from ohio so I know a thing or two about driving the 2 in snow.
Since I am not traveling to Ohio for Christmas, this is my "special" planned trip for this Christmas. If I have to drive a snow plow, I'm going! Let's just hope we can have a nice weather weekend, and get together at Bristol. Happy Holidays |

Well, new development.....my Sig Other has thrown his back out (splitting wood of all things). He is scheduled at the Doc's office today (thurs), but if they say bedrest and Rx's then he won't be able to ride that far. I doubt I would go the trip alone either. I'll keep y'all posted. But I'm already feeling the disappointment.
It is raining here today, and just barely 40 degrees, so I imagine parts north are snowy. Maybe I'll make a run to Charlotte and spend the money on a new camera lense. Anyway, just wanted to keep everyone informed. Thanks, |

Well,... Im about to be an MR2 owner, and even though Im on the coast, it would be worth a trip to the Ashville area to meet up with a few members,...
So keep us informed and we can roll sometime. Have to be a weekend though, US Marine here, and work all week long. |
