About to Own MR2 in Eastern Carolina... Looking for members
Hello people,
Just purchased an MR2 in Raliegh, and Its sole purpose is to be a toy car for me,... I plan on restoring it and building it from there, and Im calling out all other members in the Carolina's. I know there arent a lot of these around, but maybe we could get together for a small meet or something just for us MR2's. Im on the Coast, close to Atlantic Beach and New Bern area and Im willing to travel... Charlotte, VA Beach, Myrtle Beach... all within 5 hours. I often used to drive out of state for car meets, and I love doing this type of thing with people that share the same type of interests with me. Im not into planning them, but I sure do love to tag along. Post anythign you got in this forum and I will keep an eye on it. |

Ha! Wrong you are! Welcome, Robert. While there aren't hundreds of owners around the Carolinas, I'm pleased to say that there are quite a few. We had 31 MR2's at my house last July 4th, and a few more were in the shop. (A couple of those came from Atlanta, too.) We'll have to have a small meet after the new year; it's usually a lunch meet and greet. |

Yea, Mitch and Corey are the Mr2 party having pimps let me tell ya. Food out the wazoo.Beautiful women all over the place. Hot Cars just burning up the Cul De Sac. We had more engineers there than Nasa has working in it's whole crew. We even had a Ex-Fighter Pilot(He was the paid guest attendee). Not to mention that we had a crash course in Culinary Skills going on in the back yard. One guy drove in like a lightning bolt with his Silver Mr2.The way people gathered around his car , you would have thought he was giving away Crack at the local Homeless Shelter. Some dude named Harry rode in with a Posse(Turbo's a blazin). I thought we were dead at that point , but they turned out to be a bunch of Good Ol' boys(and Gals) from the North. We thought one of them may have had the West Nile Virus. But she turned out to be one heck of a trooper. Virus didn't affect her , she was out ta have sum fun.By the end of the Day they had us all up against the Garage Door doing Mug Shots.Heck, we even had a couple of Rednecks come over and attempt to do a re-enactment of the movie "Roadhouse".
All kidding aside . Mitch , Thea , Corey and Wendy are very hospitable people . It is well worth the drive to be with family so to speak. :-) |

If you wouldnt mind helping me Mitch, I was going to try a weekend type meet here in Asheville at the shop in February. It would consist of MR2's and possibly Supras. If I can get all the Asheville people to come too (at least 15) it should be guaranteed a good turn-out. It would be nice to show all of our peers the shop and let everyone that is a new owner what is available to them. I hope to get a few celebs to come out as well, including you Mitch
. Let me know what you guys/gals think and we can get to planning around everyone's schedule. Our Mapquest directions are on the www.mr2guru.com site, and that should help people get a better idea of where we are. Feel free to browse around the site as well, you may already be on it . |

Ok, let's get this ONE thing straight: you are ALWAYS invited to ANY MR2 event!
Loco crew: Valentine's Day is on a Tuesday, so we'd better go for the very first week on February or wait until after the 14th. I really, really like the idea of the "1st Annual Guru Shop Meet"! I'll be all over that! Pick a firm date, and plan on it! Mitch |

Welcome aboard the board, lol.
I'm just to the west side of Florence, so we are fairly close. What model/year/color did you purchase? Hope to meet up with ya sooner than later. |

The first week of Feb. would work out perfect for me. I'm sooo down for another meet. I had a great time at Mitch's meet in July and would definatly love to meet everybody both new and old. Of course you can count me in and if we're lucky my brother may come down with his 1JZ MKIII Supra. Looking forward to it.

We know Shane, Kelly and Chad. Chad did some of the work on their WRX wagon a couple years ago, before they moved away. He sometimes helps out here at the shop and may be in attendance as well.
We have planned a meet for Feb. 18th if you may be interested, here is a link: http://www.mr2board.com/forums/mr2-m...th-2006-a.html Hope to see some of you sign up!! PM me or post, either way is fine . |
