OK, I was bounced in here after a long hiatus from constant MR2 board posting.

My first car which I owned for 11 years was my '87 MR2 that was originally white (thus the oh so clever username) that i later painted green using rattle can rustoleum on the lower half. I loved the car and drove it through everything, eventually having it rust out through the salty winters. The death blow for it was a spin on the freeway using winter tires in the rear and wider performance all-seasons up front while it was dry in heavy traffic. Ouch. Pic here. It's sole will live on though in a project car below...

Project 87 hardtop from ITA-MR2 (Norm). Pic here. It needs some real TLC, and this is in it's current stripped state. It will live on with the engine from my old white 87 since the original drivetrain was removed due to a blown HG. This car is a present to my long time GF. It's hogging all my attention currently (how fitting is that)! It's also getting all the goodies I can think of including poly bushings, rear sway from an '85, tinting, good stereo, etc. If all works out it'll be 8B8 color (light blue metallic) from the '86 MR2, possibly set up on some nice Tokico struts and decent rubber.

I also own some other gems with ~36K on each:

'89 MR2 SC
'93 MR2 T

father:
'89 NA with 19K

And I own a workhorse now for practicality and to avoid rotting out any more MR2s in winter: the '01 Taco

Thanks... and red seems to just be very common. My first was white and the project one will be 8B8 Light Blue Metallic, so I'm trying to break the 3E5 Toyota Super (Will be Faded) Red phenomenon.
