Former MK1 owner in withdrawl

Hi there, just joined. (Duh...I'm in the Check In forum)

I owned an 86 MK1 5spd from about '93 to '95 before I traded it in for a brand new 95 VW Jetta (what the hell was I thinking?). My Mister 2 was the best performing car I have owned, although it did have an electrical problem I never did track down causing it to fail to start about 25% of the time. Good think it was a stick

Anyhow...maybe I'm just going through a mid-life crisis in my mid 30s, but I'm having serious withdrawls. Therefore, I'm back in the market for an MK1 or perhaps an MK2...haven't done too much research on those yet.

Right now, this is what I'm looking for:

86-89 MK1 (with or without SC)
stick
moonroof or t-tops
factory rear spoiler
mostly problem free (I'm willing to take on some repairs)

I could skip the moonroof/t-tops & stick for the right (read 'clean") car.

I've already lurked around in the MK1 for sale fourm...some nice cars posted there, but it looks like I was about 2 or 3 months too late. Anyhow, guess I'll copy this list and seek out the WTB forum.
