Hey welcome to the forums!
I got my first MR2 at age 16, still many people frown on younger MR2 owners. Drive safe, drive sane! |

Hell'o Steve'o Welcome to the board. Be careful with your duece, it takes some experience to master.
Leak is most likely the T-Tops, common problem. If you search around here or post your questions I am sure you will get some answers on that. Post up some pictures if you got em. |

Windows and T tops are common leakers on the car.
Just build your car to suit your needs. There are lots of ideas on what to do. Just do a search and see what appeals to you. Its your car and an extension of your personality. Just be safe and have fun! |

Welcome to the Board!
To answer your question...... Below are a few things i found for you. There are 2 pieces that you can replace that do get old and shrink after many years. You can purchase Rod guides that will tighten up the seal of your T-Top, or you can simply purchase new T-Top seal pieces to stop the leaking. Both have been effective for people but every situation is different. I plan on doing both of these at the same time to get my seals fixed. Right now my Tops leak, so for the winter, I simply got some industrial strength double sided tape, and made 2 thin pieces and placed them over the rubber that is attached to the t-top. My seals around the whole top are still good and not leaking, but the rubber piece on the t-top has shrunk which is what causes 90% of the leak problems people get. So just place the tape on those till you get a chance to replace those, or get the new rod guides. The tape is definately temporary, as it wont be effective once you take your tops off during the summer. since its winter and its too cold anyway to take the tops off, its a good temporary fix till spring time.
