hi there, just traded a 99 mystique for an 86 mk1 with 176k when speedo cable broke. drove car from lawrence MA to columbus OH. my current, but major, issue is at high speeds my front end is very unstable. had to put sand bags up front to stablize it to get it home. also, my right rear raduis rod is broke. this is my first mr2, but my third toyota with the 4age motor, my first was a 1988 nova twin cam(ae92/4age), so I'm aquaited with the motor, just need some suspension help. used parts will be just fine, this is intended as a daily driver, as i am single with no kids. I have a well equiped garage, air tools, engine hoist, etc

My old MK1 used to be really unstable at higher speeds until I put higher speed rated tires on it. Welcome to the board.

soft front end
this car already has sport tires up front, 205/45/16 and 205/55/16 in back. I can almost pick the front end up myself, its very soft up front and very stiff in the back. I have the tools needed to change/replace suspension parts. I will start this thread under the braking and suspension forum also
