Hi, I'm new to this web site. I have owned an 86 and 88 MR2 in the past and I just recently purchased an 1993 near mint MR2 Turbo with 78,000 miles. I plan on putting in a new air intake and higher performance exhaust system and go from there. I don't plan on racing the car, I just like something fun and a little different with a little kick. I own quite a few cars and the MR2 will be kind of a hobby car. I live in Yakima, WA and I am a practicing physician(Radiologist). I would appreciate some opinions on the next steps to take to improve performance but not effect reliability. I was thinking that a turbo upgrade would be the thing. Any ideas? Thanks

First off welcome, and as for some upgrades I would like to suggest suspension, even thought the 93 springs aren't bad it never hurts to go that one step further.

the air intake won't do much for you, your money is better spent on an exhaust system

Hey Bob,
Welcome to the board ![]() Make sure to post some pictures of the new wheels in your member garage. I'll probably meetup with you one time this summer if you're interested in going to any MR2 club meets ![]() As for upgrades, you'll find lots of info around the boards. It depends how much you want to spend, and how fast you want to go, Do you have any specific goals in mind?
