New to board, Old to MR2s
Hello!
I'm Adam from Stone Mountain and I'm about to start my 20V MR2 conversion. I've wanted to do this for a long time but of course money, time and space have prohibited it. Well after tons of hard work and patience those three finally came and now I've got a beautiful Red 1988 MR2 and a 20V Silvertop /w all the good stuff to complete the swap.I've pulled MR2 motors before so I know the procedure, the wiring will be the hardest part IMO. I DO have the full wiring harness, all sensors including MAF, ECU, ignition and Igniter plus the 20V fuse box, unfortuneatly that is cut off on the bottom. I think I have everything needed to run the engine independently from the body, so I'll give it a try then slowly integrate the instrument cluster. This is my third First Gen MR2 so I'm not new to the game, hopefully I won't smash this one up like the others I've read the extensive write ups on the swap for at least 2 years so hopefully I don't get in too much of a mess!Wish me luck! ![]() |

Thats Stone Mountain GA right? If you want to see a finished 20v mr2, i'm in Decatur most of the day, so I should be close to you.
If you don't want to mess with the wiring, I do a conversion harness. So far i've wired for 30 4age 20v conversions. |

Whow, seriously? Yes I'm right on Rockbridge Road right next to Stone Mountain Village. I'm aiming for starting on the 24th, so yah I'd love to see the completed project. I have a question though, what axles do I use? The 4AGE uses this flange that you bolt to, but the SilverTop I have doesn't have anything. I was just assuming the flange just comes out of the trans-axle and pops into the new one.
You might of seen my MR2 then, its red with stickers, lowered, t-tops which eagle racing star rims and roll-cage. BAD exhaust leak, sounds like crap.... hehehe What do you charge for a conversion? I have the complete silvertop engine wiring, ignition system, etc etc. They just lopped it off right after the fuse box. I've got the oil seals to convert the C56 to accept the C50/52's shifter linkage, so really the only unknown on my part is the wiring! |
