Yep another Newb
I have been on this site for years reading and looking to buy. I have wanted to pick up a mr2 for many years. Im finally on my way to owning one. I am in my 30's now and its time. My first car was a saturn I bought new that was a wopping 85hp to the wheels yep pretty bad. Now its a forced inducted 300+ HP peice of plastic (not to track yet) over the years I have tore down and built a bunch of saturns. My daily driver is a saturn with a 75 shot NX wet kit running high 13's not too shabby for a 120hp stock car. Enought of that. I can use everyones help. Im currently looking at a 1991 one owner turbo white on blue 147k on chassis and toyota rebuilt the engine at 110k the car is clean and they are asking 6500 and the car is 150 miles away. The other car is a black on black 1993 with 120k original miles . 3 owners super clean small oil leak needing a clutch and cat soon the car is accross the country and they want 5500 for it I dont mind the drive back.
What is everyones feedback Thanks Chris Iceman |

Really depends, the '93 sounds a little more expensive for what it is, but remember that the '93+ models are a lot more rare. If you plan to build the car I'd buy the '93 and use the money you save to spend towards whatever mods/repairs you plan to do.
Both sound like pretty good deals, although I'd say the '91 sounds a *little* high in price, but not by much. Good luck with your purchase man! |

ok I picked up the white 91. But its not good. I handed over the money and I recieved the title and bamm a big s staring at me. I said this is ******** and screamed at the guy. I grabbed my money and left. I sat on the next street for 10 min thinking. I guess when u have a car thats worth 3000 book and you are in a small accedent the insurance company will total it. He told me about the accedents but he thought the salvage wouldnt stick after it was fixed and inspected. I would imagine this is a problem with alot of these cars at this day and age.
so 5400 I picked it up for with the toyota rebuilt engine and new clutch with 30k on them. overall Im happy with the purchase. I will get some pics up later today. thanks Ice |

You probably made the right decision the first time.
![]() Unless you plan on keeping that car forever, having a salvage title is never good. |

When I was driving home I wasnt to impressed with the car. The car handled great it doesnt seem like much power. The boost meter reads up to + but you need to get on it in lower gears. I hate to say but my saturn will walk all over this thing at just 3psi. Im going to look into a turbo rebuild becuase the guy never replaced it.

The stock boost gauge is worthless, BTW.
