Generic new person thread (Now with page stretching pics!)
And I'm your generic new person, wheeeee!
A long time ago, I was born. Since then, my life has never been the same. I'm in the military. I just got back from a deployment, and with a bucketful of cash (an upgrade from the Dixie(TM) cupful), no significant other, low expenses, in my early 20s, what would I spend my money on? Retirement? NEIGH! Retirement is for people who think they'll live past 40! An MR2 was the answer. To fill in the stereotype, Gran Turismo 2 made me infatuated with the MR2, so I've wanted one like... Forever. It was just never practical for me. Like now, it really isn't, but I bought one anyway. My new child is a dark metallic green '92 NA hardtop. My other child, now demoted to bastard step-child, is a 1998 Acura Integra GS. Only mod: an intake. Not too fancy. Anyway, I spent virtually all of my deployment time working out finances and what-not and talking to my mechanic, about a 3VZ-FE swap. I put all my research together, complete with links (some from this very forum) and e-mailed to him. His response: "Doesn't look too rough. Sounds like a week." Anyway, that's it. I have an MR2 now, and by this time next year, it will have a V6. Earlier, if they decide to deploy me again. ![]() EDIT: Oh, by the way... I'm in the "bay area" in California, if there's any users in the Fairfield reqion that can learn me right on this thing, lol. EDIT2: I lied. One pic. Belated pic: (server is up and down, so if you can't see it, come back in half an hour, lol) Last edited by U-235; 06-09-2007 at 10:07 PM. |
