Celica owner - Michigan
Hello,
I'm new to this site, but I've been a long time member of just about every other MR2 / Celica site around. I live in Grand Rapids, MI. Just turned 31. Work in computers ( *nix mostly). I have a 90 Celica all-trac with a partial 3rd gen swap (2nd gen block, 3rd gen everything else). TD06 turbo, Link EMS, w/a IC. Also have a 96 Celica with a turbo'd 3rd gen 3SGE. Mods include a greddy FMIC, stock turbo pistons, st205 ECU & injectors, code 54 bypass circuit ( ie relay and light bulb), mitsu 14b (highly under-rated) turbo setup w/ custom manifold, and MR2 E153 trans w/ lsd built by teamrip.com. A lot of people ask why I'd use a 14b on it, and I can honestly say its probably the best street turbo I've used ( and I've had the ct26, ct20b, and a turbonetics t3/t4 ). I'm working on a couple of fun projects right now, like a evo 8 16G turbo adapter to fit the stock manifold. I'm also working on getting a local electronics company to make a map sensor that will mimic the 3rd gens, using the one on my car as a template - cost should be under $100 new, with warranty. Always happy to help out if I can. Feel free to hit me up with any questions. |

I took some pics back when I first put the cars together, but I dont have anything recent at all. This is a pic of the motor about 3 years ago before firing it up for the first time after the swap:
![]() A lot has changed since then. I just had the motor rebuilt for a 3rd time, after some poor workmanship resulted in crank-walk after only 5000 miles. The shop that did the work tried to blame the aftermarket clutch, but another shop found the main journals were barrel-shaped. I also had some bad luck while clocking the turbo and managed to chip the comp wheel, so I've just swapped down from the Greddy 20G to a TD06 16G I had. So now its off to get the EMS programmed. Here are some pics of the 6th gen, which are also a bit out dated. Installation time: ![]() ![]() trust fmic: ![]() completed paintjob: ![]() |
