Missing my '2...

Hi all - yet another newbie here. I'm a former MR2 owner and I am dying to get another one.

A bit of history: I bought a '93 NA brand new and drove it for over 100K miles. I decided to do a 3SGTE swap in '97, so I think I was one of the early experimenters in this process. I bought a '93 3SGTE and LSD tranny, but no wiring or ECU. Ended up buying a '92 clip and PAINFULLY worked through the wiring differences between a '92T harness/ECU, a '93 NA body and a '93 engine. Yikes. Anyway, the swap led to upgrades, which led to more upgrades, which led to bigger and bigger smiles while driving it. GOD, I loved that car!

I eventually got married and she forced me trade the MR2 for a new Solara in '99....for HER. I got her old Civic, and lost about $20K in the trade. She and I are now divorced -- go figure. My new wife actually has a clue -- she drives a black '06 350Z Touring 6MT w/ orange seats, so I'm not kidding when I say she has a clue. Now we're passively looking for another '93+ MR2 turbo for me to --ummm-- play with.

I don't want to do another swap, but I would look at a shell that needs TLC as long as most of the parts are there. Any thoughts on where to start? I live in Arkansas (no jokes -- please), so my local options are pretty limited.

Sorry to hear that. My girl buys me toys for my 2. Didn't mean to rub it in. But I think she is a keeper. Haha. Keep checking the for sale forums and mr2trader.com. You might want to consider checking out of state. Good luck, let us know what you pick up.

Good luck with finding another two dude! My girl is waiting for me to finish whatever I'm doing to the car so she can have it....

Welcome and good luck finding a new deuce. I know how much of a pain women can be. My wife wants me to sell mine, but she said I can get an STI in its place.
