Hi!
My name is Holly and I've been wanting to own the MR2 spyder convertible for a while now and I am currentely saving the $$ for one. I find it to be one of the sexiest cars built in the past few years and it would be absolutely unique to where I live. My goal is to have the cash to buy one in 1-2 years. Any year is fine as long as its in good shape - I plan to paint it orange, therefore a black or beidge/brown interior is what I am looking for - paint colour now not important. I figure if the guys can have antique cars - I can have a unique roadster that'll knock all their socks off ![]() I live in Newfoundland Canada, and I have yet to see one of these cars in person, only in pictures on the internet - as I said would be absolutely unique to my area. Anyway, hi all ![]() |

Ahhhh.... Holly! I didn't realize you were planning to buy an MR2 Spyder
Unfortunately, Transport Canada will not allow us to legally register this car in Canada, that's why we never see them here ![]()

It sounds like Transport Canada has not crash tested the MR2 Spyder, where the US Department of Transportation has. The USA approved the car for sale in their country, but the Canadian government hasn't- therefore it cannot be registered above the border. Trust me on this one, it's next to impossible to own a Spyder legally if you're a Canadian.
