My Howdy Check In

Hey ya'll ... from the Heart-O-Dixie ... old Toyota Service Manager here... now that I'm retired from the car business, I have the Toyota I liked the most of all the fine automobiles they let me drive ... Mk1 MR2 ... I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to modifying the car ... but I have seen most everything that happens to an MR2 ... and truly, that wasn't much failure wise ... that's part of their mystique; run strong, ride fine, handle great and break-down seldom ... thanks for being here ...

Welcome to the board. I imagine your car gets the full Toyota Genuine Part treatment when it gets any service

Yes, from my experience, I saw all vehicles, not just Toyotas, work better, last long, when OEM parts were used ... I am however, putting a 20V in my '86, and although my local dealer (where I used to work) is very co-operative, the part numbers for OEM stuff are a bit difficult ... the aftermarket seems to have better listings ... but; it is still all OEM ... the '88 is all OEM and will remain 16V as the car is 'original' ... of all the cars I demoed, the Mk1 MR2 has remained my favorite ... when I get these 2 finished and given to my daughters, I am unsure what will replace them ... perhaps a Mk2, or maybe an MRS ... that will be a while yet ...
Oh yes; and I'm a Nationally Licensed Starter with SCCA and the Chief Starter for the Alabama region ...
